Mumbai, December 26, 2023: In a significant development for public transportation in Uttar Pradesh, Tata Motors, a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer in India, has announced securing a major order from the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). The deal involves supplying 1,350 units of the Tata LPO 1618 diesel bus chassis, designed specifically for intercity and long-haul travel. These buses, adhering to the latest BS6 emission standards, promise enhanced performance, passenger comfort, and an overall lower total cost of ownership.
The order, obtained through a competitive e-bidding process under the government’s tendering system, highlights Tata Motors’ commitment to improving public transportation. The bus chassis will be delivered in phases as per the agreement.
