AUSTIN, Texas: Tesla delivered 486,532 vehicles worldwide in the third quarter of 2026, while producing 464,391 vehicles, the electric-vehicle maker said on Friday. The company also deployed 13.7 GWh of energy storage products during the quarter.
Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y continued to account for the overwhelming majority of its automotive volumes. The company produced 457,387 Model 3/Y vehicles during the quarter and delivered 478,237 units.
Its remaining vehicle models collectively recorded production of 7,004 units and deliveries of 8,295 units.
Overall deliveries exceeded production by 22,141 vehicles during the three-month period, indicating that Tesla delivered some vehicles from inventory built before or during the quarter. The company did not provide further details on inventory levels in its production and delivery announcement.
Model 3 and Model Y account for more than 98% of deliveries
The Model 3 and Model Y together represented approximately 98.3% of Tesla’s total Q3 deliveries, underlining the continuing importance of the two high-volume models to the company’s global automotive business.
Tesla said 1% of Model 3/Y deliveries were subject to operating lease accounting, compared with 4% for its other models. Across the company’s entire vehicle portfolio, 1% of deliveries were subject to operating lease accounting.

Alongside its vehicle business, Tesla reported 13.7 GWh of energy storage deployments during the third quarter. The company did not provide a product-by-product breakdown of the storage figure in the announcement.

Q3 financial results due October 21
Tesla is scheduled to release its full third-quarter 2026 financial results after the market closes on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
The company said it will publish a brief advisory containing a link to its Q3 2026 update on the Tesla Investor Relations website.
Tesla management will also conduct a live question-and-answer webcast at 4:30 p.m. Central Time, or 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time, on October 21 to discuss the company’s financial performance, business results and outlook.
The production and delivery report offers an early look at Tesla’s operating performance, but the October earnings release will provide the more consequential details on revenue, margins, profitability and cash generation. Vehicle volumes may grab the first headline; investors will be waiting to see what those deliveries ultimately did for the balance sheet.
