Hyundai India Partners With Jio-bp to Offer Access to Over 37,000 EV Charging Points

Gurugram: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has partnered with Jio-bp to integrate their electric vehicle charging networks, giving EV users access to more than 37,000 public charging points through the myHyundai app across India.

The agreement adds more than 7,000 active Jio-bp pulse charging points across over 300 cities to Hyundai’s existing charging ecosystem of 30,000-plus points. Jio-bp is the operating brand of Reliance BP Mobility Limited, a joint venture between Reliance Industries and bp.

Under the partnership, EV users will be able to discover, access and use Jio-bp pulse charging stations through the myHyundai app. Hyundai’s own high-capacity charging stations will, in turn, be gradually integrated into the Jio-bp pulse charge pro app.

The arrangement is aimed at addressing one of the more persistent concerns around electric vehicle ownership: not simply whether a charger exists somewhere on a map, but whether it is accessible, operational and fast enough when a driver actually reaches it.

Jio-bp’s network includes DC fast chargers with capacities ranging from 60 kW to 480 kW, allowing compatible electric vehicles to charge closer to their maximum hardware-supported speeds. The company says its charging network maintains 96% uptime.

The network also has a presence along major national highways, an important part of the partnership as EV adoption expands beyond predominantly urban use and owners increasingly consider longer intercity journeys.

Commenting on the partnership, Hyun Sup Lee, Executive Director and Function Head, Corporate Planning, HMIL said: “At HMIL, our vision is to provide customers with a holistic and worry-free electric mobility experience. As we continue to expand our EV product line-up in India, we are witnessing a shift in customer concerns from range anxiety to charging anxiety, underscoring the growing importance of accessible, reliable, and convenient charging infrastructure. This partnership with Jio-bp pulse marks another significant step towards strengthening the EV ecosystem in India by enhancing charging accessibility and convenience for our customers. Through the integration of our charging networks, we are simplifying the charging journey and enabling Hyundai EV owners to access a wider network of reliable charging solutions through the myHyundai app. Together, we remain committed to accelerating the adoption of sustainable mobility and delivering greater value to EV users. Additionally, HMIL and Jio-bp pulse will explore opportunities to introduce customer-centric offers in the future, further enhancing the ownership experience for EV customers.”

Sarthak Behuria, Chairman, Jio-bp said, “India’s shift to electric mobility depends on building trust at scale. Our partnership with Hyundai Motor India reflects that shared conviction. By bringing our nationwide network and high-performance charging infrastructure to Hyundai, we are not just adding charging points, we are building that trust together. This collaboration marks a meaningful step in our broader vision to make clean mobility accessible, dependable, and future-ready for every Indian on the road.”

Akshay Wadhwa, CEO, Jio-bp added, “For EV owners, range anxiety is often not just about charger availability, but about knowing whether the next charger will be operational. That’s where Jio-bp pulse comes in, with high-uptime charging stations and fast-charging technology designed to deliver a reliable and fast charging experience. Together with Hyundai, we are making it easier for customers to access this network directly through the app. We are excited to give EV owners a charging experience that matches the quality of the vehicles they drive.”

Access Open to EV Owners Across Brands

The myHyundai charging platform is not restricted to Hyundai customers. According to HMIL, EV owners can use the app regardless of the vehicle brand they drive to locate and access charging points available through its network.

That broad availability could make the integration more relevant beyond Hyundai’s own EV customer base, particularly as India’s charging infrastructure remains fragmented across multiple operators and digital platforms.

HMIL had recently announced access to more than 30,000 charging points through the myHyundai app. The integration of Jio-bp’s 7,000-plus charging points lifts that number to more than 37,000.

For drivers, the objective is fairly straightforward: fewer apps to juggle, more chargers to choose from and, ideally, less time wondering whether the battery percentage is falling faster than the next charging station is approaching.

Hyundai Plans 600 Fast-Charging Stations by 2030

Alongside third-party network integrations, Hyundai is expanding its own charging infrastructure in India.

The company currently operates 183 proprietary DC fast-charging stations and plans to increase that network to 600 stations by 2030.

All HMIL-owned DC fast chargers, including the 183 operational stations as well as future installations, are also planned to be gradually made accessible through the Jio-bp pulse charge pro app.

The two companies said they will also explore customer-focused offers in the future, although no specific programmes or timelines have been announced.

As automakers expand their electric vehicle portfolios in India, charging infrastructure is increasingly becoming as important to the ownership experience as battery range itself. Hyundai and Jio-bp’s network integration reflects that shift, with the focus moving from simply putting more EVs on the road to ensuring drivers have dependable places to plug them in once they get there.
