Mahindra Unveils Blazo i-TRK, Claims Up to ₹15 Lakh Higher Profit Over Five Years

Mumbai: Mahindra Truck and Bus, part of the Mahindra Group, has launched the Blazo i-TRK, a new-generation heavy commercial truck featuring a 320 HP mPOWER engine, an AI-enabled fuel management system, upgraded fleet telematics and what the company describes as an industry-first 48-hour uptime guarantee.

Mahindra is positioning the Blazo i-TRK around three operating priorities — “Earn More, Run More and Control More” — as it seeks to address some of the biggest concerns for fleet operators: fuel costs, vehicle downtime, maintenance expenses and driver productivity.

The company claims the truck can deliver up to 10% better fuel efficiency and potentially generate up to ₹15 lakh in additional profit per truck over five years, compared with other trucks in the industry. The figures are subject to the conditions attached to Mahindra’s stated claims.

At the centre of the efficiency package is iFuelSmart, which Mahindra describes as India’s first AI-enabled automatic drive mode in the heavy commercial vehicle segment. The system analyses road gradients, payload conditions and driving requirements and automatically selects an appropriate operating mode in real time.

The approach is intended to reduce the reliance on drivers manually choosing between different performance settings — useful on long highway runs, where consistency can sometimes matter almost as much as horsepower.

320 HP Engine Across Blazo i-TRK Range

The entire Blazo i-TRK range is powered by Mahindra’s 7.2-litre mPower engine, producing 320 HP and 1,100 Nm of torque between 1,100 and 1,700 rpm.

Mahindra says the broad torque band reduces the need for frequent gear changes while improving pulling power, gradeability and cruising performance across different load and road conditions.

The engine is supported by technologies including the TurboMaxx turbocharger and OptiFuel Optimised Power Reduction Air Compressor.

TurboMaxx uses increased boost pressure to improve airflow and combustion, with Mahindra claiming benefits in low-end torque, drivability and fuel efficiency.

OptiFuel, meanwhile, automatically disengages the air compressor once the required air pressure is reached, reducing unnecessary power consumption from the engine.

48-Hour Uptime Guarantee

One of the more significant elements of the Blazo i-TRK ownership package is Mahindra’s 48-hour Uptime Guarantee.

Under the programme, the company says customers will receive ₹10,000 per day if an eligible vehicle is not returned to the road within the committed 48-hour period, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

The service programme is supported by Mahindra’s network of service centres and Mahindra Quick Service Points, or mQSPs, which the company says are located within 75 km on National Highways and 50 km on State Highways.

Mahindra is also offering a Parts Supply Guarantee covering 250 critical parts across its dealer network. Under the stated programme, if an eligible guaranteed part is not supplied within 24 hours, the customer is entitled to receive that part free of cost, subject to the programme conditions.

The company is additionally offering warranty coverage on more than 100 parts.

iMaxx 2.0 Adds Remote Fleet Controls

The Blazo i-TRK is equipped with iMaxx 2.0, Mahindra’s upgraded connected vehicle and fleet management platform.

The system provides fleet operators with real-time information on vehicle health, driver behaviour, servicing requirements and fleet utilisation through desktop and mobile interfaces.

Among its notable features is Remote Vehicle Crank Inhibit, which allows fleet owners to remotely prevent the engine from being started in cases of unauthorised use or suspected theft.

The system also offers Remote AC Management, allowing operators to enable or disable air-conditioning depending on operational requirements.

Other functions include air-filter clogging alerts, Diesel Particulate Filter performance alerts, diesel and AdBlue distance-to-empty monitoring, FleetSense reports and ScoreMaxx Driver Performance Analytics.

Mahindra is also offering an optional dealer-installed, two-way camera-based Driver Monitoring System. It monitors the road ahead while providing features including driver recognition, seat-belt monitoring and alerts related to fatigue or drowsiness.

Focus on Driver Comfort

The Blazo i-TRK receives a ComfiMaxx suspended driver’s seat, which can be adjusted in three ways and adapts according to the driver’s weight.

Mahindra says the seat has been designed to reduce vibrations and road shocks during long-distance operation.

The truck also gets EzyCruise cruise control, operated through dashboard-mounted buttons, along with a factory-fitted air-conditioned cabin and entertainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, FM/AM radio, USB charging, AUX input and a microphone for hands-free communication.

Nine-speed transmission versions also receive a 430 mm heavy-duty clutch with an integrated wear indicator.

The company says the larger clutch has been designed to improve heat dissipation, torque transfer and service life while reducing maintenance requirements.

NOW 24×7 App Expands Digital Service Access

Mahindra has also expanded the digital ownership experience through its NOW 24×7 mobile application.

Fleet owners can use the app to raise and track service requests, request roadside assistance, book service appointments, check a vehicle’s service history, order spare parts and monitor the location of a breakdown van in real time.

It also enables customers to process digital repair approvals and receive service updates through the same platform.

Mahindra is offering customised long-term mCare Annual Maintenance Contracts and Extended Warranty plans, including 6Y/6L and 8Y/8L options, along with plans covering 6,000-10,000 hours for tippers.

New Intellicore Design Philosophy

The Blazo i-TRK is the first Mahindra heavy commercial vehicle to adopt the company’s new Intellicore design philosophy, which combines functional engineering with a more distinctive visual identity.

Exterior changes include a wide grille and full-size headlamps, while the cabin has been designed around a driver-focused and ergonomic layout.

A new Skyline Blue paint shade forms part of the visual identity.

The truck has also been designed with factory-engineered provisions for installing an aerodynamic kit. Mahindra says the approach is intended to make installation easier while reducing the risk of cabin leakages, corrosion or structural damage sometimes associated with aftermarket modifications.

The Blazo i-TRK range will be offered in three colours across multiple variants and applications.

Commenting on the launch, Vinod Sahay, President – Trucks & Buses, Executive Chairman – SML Mahindra and Member of the Group Executive Board, Mahindra Group, said, “India’s freight and logistics sector is entering a new phase of growth, where technology, reliability, and operational efficiency will define competitive advantage, and older concepts such as resale will not be relevant. Our ambition is not only to build better trucks but also to shape the future of commercial mobility through innovation and strong customer partnerships. The Blazo i-TRK embodies this philosophy through intelligent trucking and is truly the ‘Profit Ka Rocket’, with the potential to increase profit up to ₹15 lakh per truck over five years compared to other trucks in the industry. At the same time, it comes with an industry-first and unmatched uptime guarantee.”*

With the Blazo i-TRK, Mahindra is placing greater emphasis on data, automation and uptime rather than treating the heavy truck purely as a piece of mechanical hardware. For India’s increasingly cost-conscious logistics industry, the larger test will now be how those promised savings, uptime levels and connected technologies perform once the trucks accumulate kilometres in everyday fleet operations.
