New Delhi: Kia India reported its highest-ever June sales since entering the Indian market, dispatching 24,552 units in June 2026, a 19% year-on-year increase over 20,625 units sold in June 2025. The performance helped the automaker close the first half of the year with record wholesale volumes of 1,63,749 units.
The company said its January-June 2026 dispatches grew 15.2% from 1,42,139 units in the corresponding period last year, marking Kia India’s strongest-ever first-half performance. The growth was driven by sustained demand for models such as the new Seltos, Sonet, Carens Clavis and the MY26 Syros, along with rising traction for its electric vehicle offerings.
Kia’s June performance comes at a time when India’s passenger vehicle market continues to see strong customer interest in SUVs, feature-rich models and premium mobility solutions. In simpler terms, buyers still appear willing to reward cars that offer more screens, more safety and, ideally, fewer compromises.
Commenting on the sales performance, Atul Sood, Sr. Vice President, Sales & Marketing said, “Closing the first half of the year at a record high with best-ever June sales is a significant milestone for Kia India and reflects the trust customers continue to place in our brand. This performance has been driven by the sustained demand for the new Seltos, Sonet as well as Carens Clavis, while MY26 Syros has also received an encouraging response from customers. It is particularly gratifying to see existing Kia customers upgrading to the New Seltos, reaffirming the strength of our product proposition. The Clavis EV continues to witness positive customer response, supported by favourable government policies promoting EV adoption and our recently introduced Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program. As we move into the second half of the year, we remain committed to delivering innovative mobility solutions, enriching the ownership experience and driving sustainable growth.”
The new Seltos remained a key contributor to Kia India’s performance. The mid-size SUV has strengthened its position with updated design, connected technologies and an enhanced safety package. Kia said the model is backed by a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating and is India’s highest-scoring ICE vehicle to date.
The Sonet also continued to support the company’s sales momentum with steady demand. The Carens and Clavis added to Kia’s growth by targeting family buyers and lifestyle-focused customers, helping the brand expand its reach across multiple segments.
The MY26 Kia Syros has also received a positive response, with the company attributing interest in the model to its improved value proposition and accessibility.
Kia India said its electric mobility strategy also continued to gain ground through the Clavis EV. The company said the model has seen strong customer response, aided by favourable government policies encouraging EV adoption and Kia’s recently introduced Battery-as-a-Service programme.
The automaker’s nationwide network has also supported its sales expansion. Kia India currently has 892 touchpoints across 407 cities, covering sales, service and ownership support in urban as well as emerging markets. The company also operates 133 Certified Pre-Owned outlets, offering instant payments, exchanges and ownership support for customers.
Kia India’s record first-half performance highlights the continuing strength of the SUV-led passenger vehicle market, while its growing focus on EVs and ownership services suggests the company is preparing for a market where buyers may compare not just engines and features, but the entire experience that comes after the showroom handshake.
