Lamborghini Fenomeno Roadster Debuts with 1065 HP, Becomes Brand’s Most Powerful Open-Top Ever

Sant’Agata Bolognese has done it again. And this time, it has removed the roof just to make things even more dramatic.

Automobili Lamborghini has officially revealed the all-new Fenomeno Roadster, an ultra-exclusive hybrid V12 machine that now claims the title of the most powerful open-top Lamborghini ever created. Limited to just 15 units worldwide, this Italian missile produces a staggering 1080 CV and looks like it escaped straight out of a sci-fi racing simulator after refusing to obey speed limits.

Unveiled during the second edition of Lamborghini Arena at Imola on 9 May 2026, the Fenomeno Roadster continues the legendary lineage of Lamborghini’s Few-Off masterpieces — cars so rare that spotting one in real life is about as likely as finding an empty parking space outside an Italian café.

The new Roadster is based on the Fenomeno Coupé introduced in 2025, but Lamborghini says this open-top version has been extensively reworked aerodynamically to maintain the same downforce, stability and cooling efficiency despite losing its roof. In short: even the wind has been forced to cooperate.

Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, described the Fenomeno Roadster as “the purest expression” of Lamborghini’s values, combining visionary design, extreme performance and bespoke craftsmanship for a select group of collectors.

A Naturally Aspirated V12 Meets Hybrid Fury

At the heart of the Fenomeno Roadster sits Lamborghini’s 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine paired with three electric motors, creating a combined system output of 1080 CV.

Yes, naturally aspirated. In 2026. Somewhere, old-school petrolheads just stood up and applauded.

Performance figures are predictably outrageous. The Fenomeno Roadster rockets from 0-100 km/h in just 2.4 seconds, reaches 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds and can exceed 340 km/h flat out. That is faster than most people can mentally process their life decisions.

The V12 alone produces 835 CV at a screaming 9,250 rpm along with 725 Nm of torque. Two electric motors at the front axle and another mounted above the eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox provide torque vectoring, regenerative braking and fully electric driving capability through a 7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

Lamborghini calls it its first open-top V12 hybrid High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV), proving once again that electrification in Sant’Agata doesn’t mean becoming sensible.

Aerospace Chassis and Race-Car Engineering

The Fenomeno Roadster uses an advanced multi-technology carbon-fiber monofuselage chassis inspired by aerospace engineering and shared partially with the Revuelto architecture.

The structure integrates Forged Composite® materials into the front crash structures, windshield frame, rear bulkhead and side skirts, helping Lamborghini maintain coupe-like rigidity despite the missing roof. According to the company, the Roadster gains only a few kilograms over the Coupé version.

Suspension duties are handled by manually adjustable racing shock absorbers, allowing owners to fine-tune ride height and setup for road or track use. Braking comes from Lamborghini’s CCM-R Plus carbon-ceramic system derived from motorsport technology for extreme stopping performance under repeated high-speed conditions.

Aerodynamics Designed Around Open-Air Speed

Creating a roofless hypercar capable of remaining stable at over 340 km/h is not exactly a casual engineering exercise.

Lamborghini redesigned the upper aerodynamic surfaces and added a special windshield-mounted spoiler to direct airflow cleanly over the cockpit while channeling cooling air efficiently toward the V12 engine bay.

Even the rollover protection structures were developed not just for safety but also to reduce turbulence and wind noise. They sit elegantly behind the seats and blend into the dramatic Speedster-inspired rear humps.

The rear section itself draws inspiration from the Essenza SCV12 and 1970s endurance racing prototypes, while the ultra-flat silhouette and aggressive diffuser make the Roadster look like it is permanently preparing for takeoff clearance.

Mitja Borkert, Lamborghini’s Design Director, said the team focused heavily on visually integrating the engine area to create the illusion that the powertrain is “floating” behind the driver.

Honestly, when your engine produces 1080 CV, it deserves its own stage lighting.

“Feel Like a Pilot” Cockpit

Inside, the Fenomeno Roadster continues Lamborghini’s “Feel Like a Pilot” philosophy with a cockpit filled with carbon fiber, Corsatex by Dinamica and Lamborghini’s patented Carbon Skin material.

The driver-focused cabin uses aviation-inspired controls, haptic switches and three digital displays with signature hexagonal graphics. Contoured sports seats with contrasting red stitching are designed to support occupants during extreme cornering loads — because apparently 1080 CV was considered a valid excuse to redefine gravity.

Blu Cepheus Paint and Bologna Tribute

The launch specification wears a striking Blu Cepheus exterior finish contrasted by Rosso Mars accents. Lamborghini says the combination pays tribute to the red-and-blue colors of Bologna while also referencing the iconic 1968 Miura Roadster.

The Fenomeno Roadster also continues Lamborghini’s obsession with hexagonal design elements, visible everywhere from the LED lighting and air intakes to the cockpit graphics and side skirts.

Bespoke Bridgestone Tires for Maximum Madness

Bridgestone, Lamborghini’s official technical partner, developed custom Potenza Sport tires specifically for the Fenomeno Roadster.

The standard setup includes 265/30 ZRF21 front and 355/25 ZRF22 rear tires, with optional semi-slick track-focused rubber also available. Both tire configurations were developed using Bridgestone’s Virtual Tire Development technology, which reportedly cuts development time, raw material usage and CO₂ emissions significantly.

Even the tires are now engineered like aerospace projects.

Continuing Lamborghini’s Legendary Few-Off Legacy

The Fenomeno Roadster joins an elite family of Lamborghini Few-Off models that includes the Reventón, Veneno, Centenario and Sián Roadster. These limited-production halo machines have historically served as both collector icons and experimental showcases for future Lamborghini technology and design.

With only 15 examples planned globally, the Fenomeno Roadster is destined to become one of the rarest and most desirable modern Lamborghinis ever created.

And while most owners may never experience its full 340+ km/h capability, there is still something wonderfully irrational about building a roofless hybrid V12 hypercar in an age obsessed with efficiency spreadsheets.

Thankfully, Lamborghini still believes emotions should come with twelve cylinders.
