New Delhi — India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, has clocked its highest-ever annual production, rolling out over 23.4 lakh passenger vehicles in FY 2025-26. In a market where “waiting period” often becomes a personality trait, this milestone suggests Maruti Suzuki has been working overtime to keep India moving—quite literally.
The record-breaking figure not only makes Maruti Suzuki the only OEM in India to cross this production milestone, but also the top-performing facility within the global network of Suzuki Motor Corporation. That’s like topping your class—not just in school, but across all branches worldwide.
Driving this production surge were the brand’s evergreen crowd-pullers—the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, and Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Each of these models individually crossed the 2 lakh production mark, proving that Indian buyers clearly know what they want—and they want it in large numbers.
Commenting on the achievement, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, highlighted that such volumes are rare even on a global scale. He credited the milestone to the company’s robust ecosystem, built over four decades, and strengthened by close collaboration with employees, vendors, and dealer partners. He also pointed to supportive policy measures like GST 2.0 for boosting market confidence at a crucial time.
Behind the scenes, Maruti Suzuki’s manufacturing muscle spans four plants—Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda (Haryana), and Hansalpur (Gujarat)—with a combined installed capacity of 24 lakh units annually. And clearly, the company isn’t planning to slow down. A fifth facility is already in the works at Khoraj Industrial Estate in Sanand, Gujarat, which will eventually add another 10 lakh units to the annual capacity. That’s not expansion—that’s ambition on wheels.
Looking ahead, the company aims to scale its production capacity to a staggering 40 lakh units per year, further cementing India’s role as a global manufacturing hub in Suzuki’s strategy.
With 17 models and over 650 variants catering to both domestic and export markets, Maruti Suzuki’s latest milestone isn’t just about numbers—it’s about scale, trust, and a reminder that in India’s automotive story, this brand continues to hold the steering wheel.
