Polaris India Drives Inclusion, Sponsors Haryana’s First Wheelchair Ultimate Championship

Haryana: Polaris India Pvt. Ltd., a leading name in off-road mobility and adventure sports, has stepped onto a very different kind of track—by sponsoring the 1st Haryana State Wheelchair Ultimate Championship, marking a powerful move towards promoting inclusive and adaptive sports in India.

The championship match, held on 11 January 2026, forms part of a nationwide grassroots initiative to build India’s first competitive ecosystem for Wheelchair Ultimate—a fast-growing para-sport adapted from Ultimate Flying Disc (Frisbee), but played entirely on wheelchairs. Proof that speed, strategy and sporting spirit don’t need two legs—just two wheels and a lot of heart.

The event also serves as a build-up to the first-ever National Wheelchair Ultimate Championship, scheduled for March 2026, signalling India’s serious intent to create a structured pathway for para-athletes.

Wheelchair Ultimate focuses on agility, teamwork and tactical play, while simultaneously fostering physical fitness, confidence and social inclusion. The larger vision behind the project is ambitious yet inspiring: to create a strong grassroots network across states, develop national-level competition, and eventually position India on the global map of adaptive sports.

By backing the Haryana championship, Polaris India reinforces its commitment to empowerment, resilience and community-building—extending its brand philosophy beyond rugged terrains to real-life challenges.

Commenting on the association, Lalit Sharma, Managing Director, Polaris India Pvt. Ltd., said:
“At Polaris, we believe in pushing boundaries—on terrain and in society. Supporting the Haryana State Wheelchair Ultimate Championship aligns perfectly with our core values of courage, inclusivity and innovation. Para-athletes represent extraordinary determination and grit, and we are proud to support a movement that creates meaningful opportunities, visibility and a national pathway for adaptive sports in India.”

Following the successful Uttarakhand State Championship in December 2025, which saw participation from 30 para-athletes, Haryana becomes the next state to join this growing sporting revolution.

The Haryana championship will feature around 50 athletes with disabilities, including 40 men and 10 women, aged between 18 and 35 years. Prior to the finals, athletes underwent training and classification camps until 10 January, culminating in the competitive state finals on 11 January.

As part of its national expansion, Wheelchair Ultimate championships are lined up across Mumbai, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, steadily building what could soon become India’s newest and most inspiring sports movement.

Looking ahead, the initiative aims to establish permanent Wheelchair Ultimate clubs, community-led training programmes and life-skills platforms for children and youth with disabilities.

In short, while Polaris is known for conquering mountains and mud trails, it’s now also helping conquer something far bigger—barriers. And this time, the real off-roading is happening in society.
