Lamborghini Urus SE Review: The Raging Bull That Runs on Both Anger and Electricity

In the land where espresso shots are more sacred than logic, Lamborghini decided that their 641-horsepower “family car” wasn’t excessive enough. Enter the 2025 Urus SE, a plug-in hybrid Italian crossover SUV that still roars like a gladiator but occasionally hums like a Prius. It’s like watching a sumo wrestler meditate — confusing, but oddly impressive.

Design: The Angry Origami Has Been Polished

Designed by the very talented Mitja Borkert (yes, the same human responsible for the Aventador S, Huracán facelift, Revuelto, and Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo), the new Urus SE looks like a stealth jet on a spinach detox. Lamborghini has gifted it new bumpers, a bigger grille, a bonnet with more muscle definition than a gym instructor, and headlights so intelligent they might apply for citizenship — each with 21 active LED segments and a bull-tail-inspired design.

From the rear, the Y-shaped tail lights, new diffuser, and optional carbon fibre spoiler scream “Don’t park behind me unless your car is insured.” The SE’s styling borrows cues from the Revuelto, and with 104 possible paint shades (yes, 104), Lamborghini has officially declared war on your indecision.

Size and Stance: Big, Bold, and Slightly Terrifying

At 5.1 metres long and 2.2 metres wide, the Urus SE occupies roughly the same real estate as a small Mumbai apartment. It weighs 2505 kg, but don’t worry — it can still hit 312 km/h, making it one of the fastest SUVs on Earth. The new active chassis and air suspension adjust height by 75 mm, ensuring you can gracefully glide over speed breakers or, conversely, intimidate small hatchbacks at traffic lights.

The 23-inch Galanthus alloys could double as medieval weapons, and the carbon ceramic brakes are so massive they deserve their own Instagram page.

Powertrain: The Hybrid Bull

Under the sculpted bonnet lies a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 paired with a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor, producing a combined 788 horsepower and 950 Nm of torque. Zero to 100 km/h takes 3.4 seconds, and if you push harder, it’ll do 200 km/h in 11.2 seconds.

In EV mode, the Urus silently glides up to 135 km/h for around 60 km — perfect for sneaking out of the colony without alerting the entire neighbourhood. The 17 km/l hybrid average will make your accountant smile briefly before remembering you spent ₹4.57 crore on the car.

Charging via a 7.2 kW AC charger takes 4 hours and 20 minutes, which is coincidentally the time it takes to explain to your relatives why you bought a Lamborghini “for fuel efficiency.”

Ride, Handling & Modes: The Multi-Personality SUV

The Urus SE has four-wheel drive, torque vectoring, rear-wheel steering, and a limited-slip differential — because why have one personality when you can have seven? There are six drive modes (Strada, Sport, Corsa, Sabbia, Terra, and Neve) plus four electric modes (EV, Recharge, Hybrid, Performance).

It’s a car that can conquer a racetrack, sand dunes, snowy hills, or a South Delhi wedding driveway with equal flair. The steering is electromechanical, the gearbox a ZF 8-speed, and the exhaust comes with a Helmholtz resonator to ensure the soundtrack remains part symphony, part thunderstorm.

Interior: The Cockpit of Chaos (in a Good Way)

Inside, the Urus SE feels like a luxury spaceship designed by Italian fashion designers after three espressos too many. Lamborghini calls it the “Feel Like a Pilot” philosophy, and it’s easy to see why — there are switches, knobs, and toggles that make you feel ready for liftoff.

The 12.3-inch digital cluster, 12.3-inch infotainment system, and Tamburo drive selector dominate the dashboard, while Bang & Olufsen’s 21-speaker 3D sound system ensures you can hear “Despacito” in Dolby glory while doing 300 km/h.

The Ad Personam program allows for infinite customization — from seatbelt colors to contrast stitching, from carbon fibre trim to heated, ventilated, massaging seats. It’s not just personalization; it’s therapy.

Technology & Safety: The Nerdy Side of the Bull

Don’t let the V8 fool you — this is a geek in a muscle suit. The Urus SE packs everything from ADAS, night vision, 8 airbags, and electromechanical roll stabilization, to Alexa integration and remote vehicle tracking. It’ll even snitch on your driver with geofencing, curfew alerts, and trip statistics.

And if you ever forget where you parked your ₹4.57 crore bull, there’s a Car Finder feature. Because apparently, that happens.

Verdict: The Raging Bull Goes Green (Sort Of)

The Lamborghini Urus SE is what happens when environmental responsibility meets unrestrained chaos. It’s faster, cleaner, and angrier than ever — a plug-in hybrid SUV that thinks it’s a supercar.

Yes, it’s heavy, expensive, and more flamboyant than an Italian opera, but that’s exactly the point. It’s not a car for the subtle or sensible. It’s for those who want to save the planet… at 312 km/h.
