LAS VEGAS – Pioneering a Smarter EV Future
Honda unveiled its bold vision for the future of electric vehicles (EVs) at CES 2025 with the global debut of its 0 Series prototypes: the Honda 0 Saloon and Honda 0 SUV. These groundbreaking EVs, set for production in 2026 at Honda’s EV Hub in Ohio, showcase next-generation technologies, including Honda’s proprietary ASIMO Operating System (OS), and mark a significant step forward in automated driving.
Honda 0 Series: The Future of EV Mobility
The Honda 0 SUV, a spacious mid-size EV with cutting-edge “Thin, Light, and Wise” design principles, and the Honda 0 Saloon, a sleek flagship with sporty styling, both embody Honda’s commitment to advanced technology and sustainability. These models will integrate Level 3 automated driving capabilities, enabling “eyes-off” driving in certain conditions, and offer a highly personalized mobility experience powered by the ASIMO OS.
ASIMO OS: Honoring a Legacy, Redefining the Future
Paying tribute to Honda’s iconic ASIMO humanoid robot, the ASIMO OS is a software platform designed to enhance user experience with ultra-personalized features. The system manages everything from autonomous driving to in-vehicle infotainment, continually evolving through over-the-air (OTA) updates. This innovation aligns with Honda’s goal of making EVs adaptable, efficient, and enduring.
Tech Partnerships and Next-Gen Performance
Honda announced a collaboration with Renesas Electronics Corporation to develop a high-performance system-on-chip (SoC) for its next-gen EVs. By adopting centralized electronic architectures, Honda aims to enhance vehicle performance, AI capabilities, and energy efficiency.
Redefining Energy and Sustainability
Honda’s Home Energy Management System promises seamless EV integration into households, enabling intelligent charging schedules, reduced electricity costs, and even grid contributions during peak demand. With a focus on clean energy, Honda will leverage partnerships like IONNA—a joint venture aiming for 30,000 charging stations by 2030—and embrace the North American Charging Standard (NACS).
Pioneering a Zero-Collision Future
Building on its history of innovation, Honda aims to lead the industry with automated driving technologies designed to prevent collisions under all conditions. By blending AI with data-driven learning, Honda is poised to deliver a safer, more intuitive driving experience.
Global Impact Starts Now
The Honda 0 Series production models will first launch in North America before expanding to Japan and Europe, cementing Honda’s position as a leader in sustainable, innovative mobility. As ASIMO once inspired a generation, the Honda 0 Series is set to revolutionize the EV landscape with cutting-edge technology and a vision of smarter, greener mobility.
“The Honda 0 Series represents more than a vehicle; it’s a platform for progress, delivering innovation, safety, and sustainability,” said Honda CEO Toshihiro Mibe.
The journey toward a reimagined driving future has begun, and Honda’s 0 Series is leading the charge.
