Chennai, India – Isuzu Motors India has achieved a significant milestone, rolling out its one lakhth vehicle from its state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. This landmark was celebrated with the production of the popular Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, a model renowned for its durability and dependability in the Indian automotive market.
The momentous event saw dignitaries such as Dr. N. Yuvaraj, Secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, and Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder & MD of Sri City, in attendance. Speaking at the ceremony, Isuzu Motors India President and Managing Director, Rajesh Mittal, highlighted the company’s rapid growth and commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
“Achieving this milestone demonstrates our strong commitment to India. Around 22% of our production workforce comprises talented women, and 100% are diploma engineers, ensuring the same world-class standards Isuzu is known for globally,” said Mittal.
Isuzu’s Sri City plant, operational since 2016, has expanded significantly, with the inauguration of its Phase-II operations in 2020, including a cutting-edge press shop and engine assembly line. Over 1.4 million pressed parts have since been produced, enabling the company to double its vehicle and engine production in just two years.

The milestone also reflects Isuzu’s growing international footprint, as it emerges as a leading exporter of commercial vehicles from India. “India remains a strategic market for us, and this achievement underscores our dedication to delivering reliable, value-driven, and innovative mobility solutions,” said Toru Kishimoto, Deputy Managing Director of Isuzu Motors India.
