Chennai, 22nd August 2024 – Marking a significant milestone in the state’s tech landscape, the Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India (Renault Nissan Tech) inaugurated its latest workspace expansion in Chennai on Wednesday, 21st August 2024. This new facility, aimed at enhancing the company’s capacity for innovation, was virtually launched by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin during the Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2024 at The Leela Palace, Chennai.
Located within the bustling Ascendas IT Park in Mahindra World City SEZ, the new workspace spans an impressive 1.38 lakh square feet, designed to accommodate over 2,000 employees in a modern, agile environment. The expansion reflects Renault Nissan Tech’s ongoing commitment to growth and innovation, as it continues to support Renault and Nissan on a global scale with cutting-edge mobility solutions.
The inauguration ceremony, which saw Chief Minister Stalin on stage alongside key figures from Renault Nissan Tech, including Akira Hanzawa, Senior Vice President – Nissan Engineering & Costing, and Eva James, Vice President – Global Service Delivery & Global Hub, underscored Tamil Nadu’s growing importance as a hub for automotive and technology advancements.
Speaking on the occasion, Debashis Neogi, Managing Director of Renault Nissan Tech, highlighted the centre’s evolution into a global powerhouse for deep tech competencies such as AI, cloud migration, and software validation. “Our new workspace is more than just an expansion; it’s a testament to our focus on agility, collaboration, and innovation. As we aim to become the largest Auto Tech OEM Global Capability Centre in India, this facility will play a crucial role in attracting top talent and driving digital transformation for Renault and Nissan,” Neogi stated.
The new office space, with its open floor plan, meeting rooms, and collaborative work café, has been carefully designed to break down traditional barriers, fostering a productive and dynamic work environment that encourages creativity and innovation. This expansion is seen as a key driver for Renault Nissan Tech’s future growth, further solidifying Tamil Nadu’s reputation as a leading destination for tech and automotive innovation in India.
