Bengaluru, 13th June, 2024: Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd (TPEM), a subsidiary of Tata Motors, has announced that the Punch.ev and Nexon.ev have both achieved 5-star safety ratings from Bharat-NCAP. The Punch.ev has set a new benchmark by achieving the highest scores ever recorded – 31.46/32 for adult occupant protection (AOP) and 45/49 for child occupant protection (COP). The Nexon.ev also performed exceptionally well, scoring 29.86/32 for AOP and 44.95/49 for COP. With these achievements, Tata Motors is the only manufacturer to offer a range of SUVs that have all secured 5-star ratings in both Bharat-NCAP and Global-NCAP tests.
Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, congratulated Tata Motors on this milestone, emphasizing the importance of Bharat-NCAP in advancing vehicle safety standards in India. He highlighted the alignment of these achievements with the Indian government’s vision for safer vehicles and the role of Bharat-NCAP in enhancing the global competitiveness of Indian automobiles.
