Gurugram: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) reported its highest-ever monthly sales of 82,299 units in October 2026, registering a 17.7% year-on-year growth. The record performance was supported by strong festive-season demand, higher domestic sales and increased exports, marking a new monthly milestone for the South Korean automaker’s Indian operations.
The company recorded its highest-ever domestic monthly sales of 62,799 units, representing a 16.7% increase compared with October 2025. Exports also maintained positive momentum, rising 21.1% year-on-year to 19,500 units.
Together, the domestic and export figures helped Hyundai achieve its highest monthly sales volume since commencing operations in India.
Hyundai Venue Sets New Monthly Sales Record
Among individual models, the Hyundai Venue delivered a particularly notable performance, recording its highest-ever domestic monthly sales of 13,017 units in October 2026.
The milestone highlights the Venue’s contribution to Hyundai’s domestic sales performance in India’s competitive SUV segment.
With both domestic sales and exports reaching significant volumes, October proved to be a month of multiple entries in Hyundai’s record books.
Festive Demand and Exports Drive Growth
Commenting on the company’s performance, Tarun Garg, MD & CEO – HMIL, said:
“October 2026 has been an exceptional month for Hyundai Motor India, with total sales of 82,299 units, our highest-ever monthly sales since inception with a robust 17.7% YoY growth. Strong festive demand, coupled with healthy momentum in both domestic and export markets, helped us set this new sales record. Going forward, the newly launched Hyundai Bayon – our Intelligent Utility Vehicle, will provide further impetus to our growth in India as well as across 50+ export markets, reinforcing India’s role as a strategic manufacturing and export hub for Hyundai.”
The company’s performance reflects gains across both major sales channels, with exports growing faster in percentage terms than domestic volumes.
The stronger overseas performance also underscores the importance of international markets to Hyundai’s Indian manufacturing operations.
Hyundai Bayon Expected to Support Future Sales
Looking ahead, Hyundai is banking on its newly launched Bayon, described by the company as an Intelligent Utility Vehicle, to support further growth in domestic and international markets.
According to Hyundai, the Bayon is expected to strengthen its product portfolio in India while supporting its ambitions across more than 50 export markets.
The company’s emphasis on exports forms part of its broader strategy to position India as a major manufacturing and overseas supply base within Hyundai’s global operations.
October’s record results provide Hyundai with a strong starting point for the final two months of 2026. However, sustaining the momentum beyond the festive season will be an important measure of underlying demand. With domestic volumes, exports and the Venue all contributing to its latest milestone, Hyundai’s next challenge will be turning an exceptional month into more consistent growth.
