Honda Cars India Reports 8,788 Unit Sales in June 2026, Boosted by City and ZR-V Momentum

New Delhi: Honda Cars India Ltd. reported total sales of 8,788 units in June 2026, marking a 71.5% increase over the same month last year, supported by higher domestic volumes and a sharp rise in exports.

The company sold 5,243 units in the domestic market during the month, registering a 13.5% growth compared with 4,618 units in June 2025. Exports stood at 3,545 units, significantly higher than the 506 units shipped in the corresponding month last year.

Honda Cars India said the sales performance was helped by recent product activity, including the launch of the new City and the India premiere of the global SUV Honda ZR-V. The company also cited continued demand for models such as the Amaze and Elevate.

Sharing his thoughts on the sales performance, Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “The launch of New City and India Premiere of global SUV Honda ZR-V has generated strong momentum for our overall sales including Amaze and Elevate during June, driven by healthy customer demand and a positive market response. With Monsoon conditions expected to improve during July, we hope to sustain this positive momentum in the months ahead.” “The deliveries of ZR-V are also scheduled to begin from July. It will draw discerning new customers and prospects into Honda showrooms, enhancing our premium brand appeal and unlocking new growth opportunities,” he added.

The June numbers indicate a stronger month for Honda Cars India at a time when passenger vehicle makers continue to rely on fresh launches, SUVs and export demand to maintain momentum. In India’s car market, a new SUV in the showroom is often less a product launch and more a footfall magnet with four wheels.

The company’s performance also reflects the growing importance of a balanced sales mix, with domestic demand supported by exports. With ZR-V deliveries scheduled to begin in July, Honda will look to convert early interest into sustained retail traction as the monsoon quarter unfolds.
