Mumbai: Tata Motors is turning up the voltage in India’s commercial vehicle segment with the launch of the all-new Tata Intra EV Pickup, priced at an aggressive ₹11.95 lakh (ex-showroom). With this move, the company further cements its claim of offering India’s most comprehensive electric commercial vehicle (CV) portfolio—because apparently, even cargo vehicles are now going green (and quietly doing so).
Built on the proven Intra platform but powered by a purpose-built electric architecture, the new pickup aims to redefine how small businesses move goods—efficiently, economically, and without the soundtrack of a diesel engine.
Built for Business, Designed for India
At its core, the Intra EV Pickup is all about earning more while spending less. With a segment-leading 1,750 kg payload capacity and a load body stretching up to 10 ft 2 inches, it is ready to haul everything from e-commerce parcels to milk crates—and possibly a small entrepreneur’s dreams along the way.
Powering this workhorse is a 72 kW electric motor delivering 230 Nm of torque, ensuring it doesn’t break a sweat even when fully loaded. Add to that a 23% gradeability, and the Intra EV is prepared to tackle steep city ramps and rural inclines alike—no complaints, no clutch burning.
The pickup draws energy from a 28.2 kWh IP67-rated battery, offering a claimed range of 211 km on a single charge. And when it does run low, fast charging via CCS2 can juice it from 10% to 80% in about 55 minutes—just enough time for a tea break and a quick business call.
Lower Costs, Higher Confidence

With a 6-year / 2 lakh km battery warranty, Tata Motors is clearly betting big on reliability. For fleet operators and small businesses, this translates to predictable running costs and fewer “unexpected surprises”—except maybe how quiet the vehicle feels compared to its diesel cousins.
Speaking at the launch, Girish Wagh, Managing Director & CEO of Tata Motors, highlighted the company’s expanding electric CV ecosystem, crediting supportive government policies and industry collaboration for accelerating India’s EV transition.
Smart Tech Meets Safety
The Intra EV Pickup isn’t just about muscle—it brings brains too. Equipped with a dedicated Electronic Braking System and three-level regenerative braking, the vehicle enhances both safety and efficiency.
It also comes with Fleet Edge, Tata Motors’ connected vehicle platform, offering real-time tracking, vehicle diagnostics, and predictive maintenance insights. In simpler terms: your pickup now talks back—but only to help you earn more.
Comfort That Works Overtime
Recognizing that drivers often spend long hours on the road, Tata has equipped the Intra EV with a walk-through cabin, car-like ergonomics, and Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS). The near-silent electric drivetrain further reduces fatigue, making long hauls less tiring—and conversations inside the cabin finally audible.
Charging Ahead with Ecosystem Support
To back the product, Tata Motors is offering access to a rapidly growing EV ecosystem, including 25,000+ charging points and over 200 dedicated EV service centres across India. Flexible financing options through banks and NBFCs aim to make the switch to electric as smooth as possible—financially and operationally.
Strengthening the Electric Line-Up
Joining the likes of the Ace EV 1000 and Ace Pro EV, the Intra EV Pickup expands Tata Motors’ electric small commercial vehicle portfolio, targeting India’s vast network of small businesses, fleet operators, and last-mile delivery players.
In a market where time is money and fuel is a constant expense, the Intra EV Pickup might just be the quiet revolution India’s cargo sector didn’t know it needed—but will likely appreciate every kilometre of.
