Honda Ends FY26 on a High Note: Amaze & Elevate Drive 5% Growth, EV Plans Add Extra Spark

New Delhi: Honda Cars India Ltd. seems to have pressed the accelerator just at the right time, clocking a steady 5% growth in domestic sales for March 2026. The company reported 7,585 units sold in India, along with 2,451 units exported, wrapping up the financial year on a confident note.

Compared to March 2025, when domestic sales stood at 7,228 units, Honda’s latest numbers reflect a modest yet meaningful climb—proof that consistency, much like a well-tuned engine, still wins the race.

At the heart of this momentum are two familiar crowd-pullers—the ever-reliable Honda Amaze and the urban SUV contender Honda Elevate. Both models have continued to attract buyers with a mix of practicality, features, and timely promotional offers—because who doesn’t enjoy a good deal along with a good drive?

Commenting on the performance, Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, noted that strong demand across the portfolio and strategic offers helped the brand achieve this growth. He added that Honda is entering the new fiscal year with renewed optimism and a clear roadmap for expansion.

And here’s where things get interesting—Honda is gearing up to join the electric race in India. The company confirmed plans to launch its first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) in the second half of FY26. While details remain under wraps, this move signals Honda’s intent to plug into India’s rapidly evolving EV ecosystem—literally and figuratively.

Exports, however, saw a dip compared to 4,656 units in March 2025, suggesting that while Honda’s domestic engine is revving smoothly, the global gearbox might need a slight recalibration.

Still, with a balanced mix of strong-selling models and an upcoming EV in the pipeline, Honda Cars India appears well-positioned to keep its momentum alive. After all, in the automotive world, staying relevant is half the battle—and Honda seems to be shifting gears just in time.
