Raniganj, West Burdwan (West Bengal):
Commercial vehicle major Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) is tightening its grip on Eastern India’s freight highways with the inauguration of a new authorised BharatBenz dealership in Raniganj. Opened in partnership with Agile Trucking, the new facility aims to boost sales, service, and spare parts support across southern West Bengal’s busy industrial belt — where trucks rarely sleep and logistics never takes a tea break.
Strategically positioned on NH2, one of the state’s key arterial highways and roughly 20 km from Andal Domestic Airport, the dealership is designed to efficiently serve high-activity zones including Durgapur, Raniganj, and Asansol. These regions generate strong demand from infrastructure projects, railway-linked freight movement, captive fleet operators, and construction logistics.
Large 85,000 sq ft 24×7 facility built for uptime
Spread across 85,000 square feet, the modern 3S (Sales, Service, Spares) facility operates round the clock to maximise vehicle uptime — because in the trucking world, downtime is costlier than diesel.
The Raniganj dealership includes:
- 12 service bays
- 4 dedicated accident repair bays
- 4 Mobile Reach Vans (MRVs) for on-road assistance
- 65 trained staff members
- Capacity to service over 500 vehicles per month
This setup ensures fleet operators receive faster turnaround times and reliable technical support, especially along West Bengal’s dense industrial freight routes.
BharatBenz eyes aggressive network expansion
Rajiv Chaturvedi, President & Chief Business Officer, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, said West Bengal continues to be a critical market due to strong infrastructure growth, industrial expansion, and highway freight activity.
He highlighted that with this inauguration, BharatBenz’s nationwide network now stands at 418 touchpoints, with plans to add 32 more locations in 2026, taking the total to around 450 touchpoints.
Within West Bengal specifically:
- 11 service workshops currently operational
- 5 additional touchpoints planned in 2026
- A new Regional Training Centre (RTC) in Kolkata expected by Q4 2026
The upcoming training centre will focus on producing skilled engineers for dealerships, further strengthening service quality and customer experience.
Agile Trucking reinforces regional commitment
Vijayakumar K, CEO of Agile Trucking, stated the new Raniganj facility reflects the company’s long-term investment in the region’s transport ecosystem.
Since beginning operations in July 2022, Agile Trucking has already sold over 400 BharatBenz trucks and currently runs three touchpoints in West Bengal, all located along major highway corridors to ensure easy accessibility for customers.
Strengthening logistics backbone of eastern industrial belt
All BharatBenz touchpoints in South Bengal are strategically placed along major national highways, ensuring quicker response times and improved logistics support.
The new Raniganj dealership is expected to play a crucial role in supporting fleet operators across:
- Industrial logistics
- Infrastructure transport
- Railway-linked cargo movement
- Captive fleet operations
With freight demand in eastern India continuing to rise, BharatBenz’s latest expansion signals its intent to remain firmly in the fast lane of India’s commercial vehicle market.
