BMW launches new X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro in India at ₹74.5 lakh with 258 hp petrol engine

Gurugram: BMW has expanded its luxury SUV portfolio in India with the launch of the all-new BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro, a more powerful petrol variant positioned for buyers who want their premium SUV served with an extra shot of performance — and a generous garnish of blacked-out attitude.

Priced at ₹74.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and locally produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai, the new model joins the existing X3 petrol and diesel lineup, strengthening BMW’s presence in India’s fiercely contested luxury mid-size SUV segment.

More power under the hood — because subtlety is overrated

At the heart of the new X3 sits a 2.0-litre four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol engine producing 258 hp and 400 Nm, paired with an eight-speed Steptronic automatic and BMW’s intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

The SUV sprints from 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds, aided by 48-volt mild-hybrid technology, which improves throttle response, efficiency and start-stop smoothness.

Drivers also get Sport Boost and Sport Plus modes, ensuring the SUV can switch personalities faster than a Bollywood actor in a dual role.

Aggressive new look with illuminated grille and M hardware

BMW has given the new X3 a stronger visual identity with a revised exterior featuring:

  • Fully blacked-out kidney grille with Iconic Glow illumination
  • M Aerodynamic package
  • Red M Sport brakes
  • Standard 20-inch M alloy wheels
  • Flush door handles and sculpted wheel arches

A new Brooklyn Grey Metallic shade headlines the colour palette, alongside Alpine White, Dune Grey, Tanzanite Blue and Black Sapphire.

With dimensions of 4,755 mm length and 2,865 mm wheelbase, BMW claims the X3 stands among the longest, widest and tallest in its segment — essentially ensuring it occupies both road space and Instagram space with equal confidence.

Premium minimalist cabin with curved digital cockpit

Inside, BMW has leaned into a cleaner, tech-heavy design philosophy featuring:

  • 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster
  • 14.9-inch central control display
  • BMW Curved Display with Operating System 9
  • New Sensatec-wrapped instrument panel
  • BMW Interaction Bar with ambient lighting
  • Fully customizable Head-Up Display

Sport seats wrapped in sustainable Veganza vegan leather offer ventilation, lumbar support and driver backrest width adjustment, while a panoramic glass roof and Harman Kardon 15-speaker audio system (750W) add to the luxury quotient.

There’s even an illuminated “jewellery box” storage area — because apparently even your sunglasses deserve mood lighting now.

Connected tech and digital key for the smartphone era

The SUV comes equipped with the latest BMW ConnectedDrive ecosystem, including:

  • Digital Key Plus (shareable with up to 18 users)
  • MyBMW App remote vehicle monitoring
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Customisable digital services via BMW Digital Premium

Parking Assistant Plus enables automated parking, surround-view camera support, BMW Reversing Assistant and Drive Recorder.

Driver assistance and safety

Standard Driving Assistant Plus includes:

  • Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Lane Keep Assist

Safety features include eight airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, Cornering Brake Control, Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control.

Financing and ownership

BMW India Financial Services is offering SMART Finance plans with flexible EMIs, assured buyback options and financing packages covering service, extended warranty and protection plans.

Market positioning

With the launch of the X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro, BMW is targeting performance-focused luxury SUV buyers looking for stronger petrol power combined with sporty styling and advanced digital features.

In simple terms: if the regular X3 was the well-tailored business suit, this one adds the black leather jacket — and maybe drives a little faster to the meeting.
