Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has added a fresh chapter to its India story—this time with a sea breeze. The company today launched its customer-focused initiatives, TDrive and TDeliver, at Prince Toyota, Sri Vijaya Puram, marking their first-ever introduction in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The dual rollout reinforces Toyota’s commitment to safety, trust and responsible mobility—now reaching India’s most picturesque (and logistically challenging) destinations.
The inauguration was attended by Toyota’s senior leadership including Tadashi Asazuma, Deputy Managing Director, and Arun Nair, Vice President – Strategic Business Unit (East Region), along with the Prince Toyota dealer team. While the setting was serene, the intent was serious: safer roads, better-trained drivers, and cars delivered exactly the way they should be—unused and unscuffed.
TDrive: Training Drivers, Not Just Cars
With TDrive, Toyota has brought its structured motor vehicle training programme to the islands—its first such facility in the region. Designed around Toyota’s “Safe Society” philosophy, TDrive blends classroom learning, advanced simulators housed within real vehicles, and supervised on-road sessions. The idea is simple: build confidence before the wheels hit the road, and discipline before bad habits form.
The simulator-led approach ensures learners transition smoothly to real-world driving, helping Toyota inch closer to its long-term vision of zero road fatalities in India. In short, it’s not just about learning to drive—it’s about learning to drive right.
TDeliver: When Your New Car Doesn’t Take a Test Drive Before You Do
If TDrive is about responsible driving, TDeliver is about responsible delivery. Launched nationwide in February 2024, TDeliver uses flatbed carriers to transport vehicles directly from stockyards to dealerships, eliminating unnecessary road usage before delivery. The result? Consistent quality, safer handling, and a new-car experience that’s truly new.
With its Andaman & Nicobar launch, TDeliver hits multiple milestones at once: the islands become Toyota’s 1,000th TDeliver location, completing 100% coverage across all Toyota dealerships in India, while also marking the brand’s 1-lakh TDeliver service since inception. And yes—this comes at no extra cost to customers, even in complex last-mile regions where logistics can be as tricky as a coastal U-turn.
What Toyota Leaders Said
Speaking at the launch, Tadashi Asazuma, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said,
“This launch reflects our unflinching commitment to fostering a culture of responsible mobility through comprehensive solutions. With TDrive and TDeliver in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, we strengthen customer trust while extending the highest standards of safe mobility to the region.”
Sagar Khurana, Dealer Principal, Prince Toyota, added,
“These initiatives go beyond products and services—they shape behaviour, trust and responsibility. By combining world-class delivery standards with structured driver training, we are collectively contributing to a stronger road safety culture in the islands.”
Driving the Bigger Picture
With TDrive and TDeliver now operational at Prince Toyota, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has significantly strengthened its footprint in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The move underlines Toyota’s belief that thoughtful mobility isn’t limited by geography—whether on bustling highways or tranquil island roads, safety and customer experience travel first class.
After all, when Toyota arrives somewhere new, it doesn’t just bring cars—it brings a plan. And this one comes neatly delivered, with training included.
