Nissan Turns Up the Gas (Literally): Magnite EZ-Shift Gets CNG Retrofit With New Integrated Fuel Lid & ₹71,999 Kit

Nissan Motor India has officially expanded its CNG retrofitment program to include the New Nissan Magnite BR-10 EZ-Shift (AMT), proving once again that even the most urbane compact SUV can have a taste for efficiency — and a bit of gas.

After the roaring success of the retrofit for the manual Magnite BR-10, the company has swiftly shifted gears to introduce a Government-approved CNG retrofit for the AMT variant, complete with a 3-year / 1-lakh km warranty. Because nothing says confidence like telling your customers, “Yes, we’ll stand by it — even when it’s full of gas.”

Fuel Lid Integration: From Awkward to Awesome

In what many might call a filler revolution, Nissan’s engineers have relocated the CNG filling valve from under the bonnet to a far more dignified position — right behind the existing fuel lid. No more bonnet-lifting acrobatics at the pump; now refuelling is as simple, quick, and ergonomic as topping up petrol. This thoughtful touch adds a premium feel while maintaining the SUV’s clean lines — or as Nissan might say, design meets discipline, with a whiff of methane.

₹71,999 Kit & GST 2.0 Cheer

Thanks to India’s new GST 2.0 structure, the retrofit kit’s MRP is just ₹71,999, down from its previous higher-taxed self. Nissan has graciously passed on the full benefit to customers, ensuring more savings per kilometre — because the only thing better than higher mileage is lower taxation.

Official Statement: A Shift Towards Customer Delight

Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, commented:

“We are delighted to take another step forward in our CNG journey with the expansion to the Magnite EZ-Shift. This quick rollout reflects our commitment to customer needs, combining Nissan’s engineering excellence with affordability and convenience. With the new integrated fuel lid and lower kit price, the ownership experience becomes more seamless — and definitely more economical.”

Coverage & Certification

The retrofitment program, originally launched in 7 states, now covers 13 across India, including Delhi-NCR, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Madhya Pradesh. The retrofit kits are developed by Motozen Fuel Systems and installed only at authorised Nissan centres, ensuring safety and compliance with every fitment.

Magnite: Compact SUV, Global Star

Beyond the new retrofit, the New Nissan Magnite continues to enjoy its 5-Star GNCAP safety rating — with 6 airbags standard — and a 10-Year Extended Warranty Plan, a segment-first move that screams confidence louder than its turbo engine.

Add to that the Kuro Special Edition, the new Metallic Grey option, and over 20 first-in-segment features, and you have a compact SUV that’s as stylish in Tokyo as it is practical in Thane. With presence in 65+ countries, the Magnite proves that Nissan knows how to go global — one efficient retrofit at a time.

From the bonnet to the fuel lid, from petrol to CNG, and from affordability to accessibility — Nissan’s Magnite just keeps reinventing itself. Because sometimes, a little gas can go a long way — especially when it’s factory-approved.
