From “Juice Break” to “Charge Break”: Tata Motors Powers Past 25,000 EV Chargers for Small Commercial Vehicles

Mumbai – Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has hit a milestone that would make even your smartphone jealous—25,000 public chargers now live across the country for its electric small commercial vehicles (SCVs). That’s right, no more nervously eyeing the battery bar mid-delivery like it’s a cricket score in the last over.

The chargers are strategically sprinkled across more than 150 cities—Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and key logistics hubs—giving last-mile operators the confidence to run further, earn more, and finally stop asking, “Bhai, socket kahan milega?”

The Big Boost

To turbocharge this ecosystem, Tata Motors has signed MoUs with 13 Charging Point Operators (CPOs) to roll out an additional 25,000 charge points in the next 12 months. The line-up of partners—A Plus Charge, Ampvolts, chargeMOD, Charge Zone, Electric Fuel, Envo The Sustainer, EV Spot Charge, Kazam, Nikol EV, Sonik Mobility, Thunderplus Solutions, Volttic, and Zeon Electric—reads like the IPL of charging companies.

And here’s the kicker: every charger, current and upcoming, will be mapped on Fleet Edge, Tata’s connected vehicle platform, ensuring drivers can navigate to the nearest juice stop with the same ease as finding the closest chaiwala.

Milestones on the Road

“With over 10,000 Ace EVs already deployed, covering 6 crore km collectively, customers are clearly embracing the shift to clean cargo mobility,” said Pinaki Haldar, VP & Business Head – SCVPU, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles. “The recently introduced Ace Pro EV is picking up speed too, thanks to its advanced capabilities designed for India’s bustling urban and semi-urban delivery demands.”

Translation: the Ace EV family isn’t just delivering packages—it’s also delivering confidence to transporters, all while keeping the air cleaner than a freshly washed Tata truck.

Building an Empire, One Plug at a Time

Tata’s electric SCV lineup—Ace Pro EV, Ace EV, and Ace EV 1000—offers multiple deck configurations and payloads for every kind of cargo entrepreneur. They’re tested across India’s rugged terrains, because let’s face it: if an EV can handle both Bengaluru potholes and Delhi traffic jams, it can probably handle Mars.

To back it up, Tata Motors has also set up 200+ dedicated EV support centres nationwide, ensuring uptime is high, turnaround is quick, and nobody has to explain to a customer why their fridge delivery was “delayed due to charging drama.”
