Maruti Suzuki Runs Full-Page “Thank You Note” to PM Modi – India’s Cars Get a GST Makeover

New Delhi:
In a rare moment where India’s largest carmaker swapped the steering wheel for stationery, Maruti Suzuki has published a full-page “Thank You” note to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, celebrating the landmark GST reform that promises to make cars more affordable.

The ad, prominently featuring a smiling PM Modi, reads less like a corporate announcement and more like a heartfelt postcard: “The landmark GST reform will fuel affordability and empower billions to fulfil their dreams, accelerating the drive to Viksit Bharat.”

From Tax Burden to Joy of Mobility

Maruti Suzuki highlighted that with lower taxes on small cars, the dream of mobility will now extend to an even larger section of Indian society. In classic auto-industry style, the benefits were broken down like a feature list:

  • Greater purchasing power – Meaning more Indians can finally convince their parents that a car is a “need” not a “want.”
  • Boost to manufacturing – Because what’s better than “Make in India”? “Drive Made in India.”
  • Virtuous cycle of growth – A phrase so positive it could easily double up as a wellness retreat slogan.

Tax Cuts – The Real Festival Season Offer

Describing the GST reduction as a “gift from the government to the consumer,” Maruti Suzuki promised to pass on the full benefits to buyers, covering vehicles, parts, accessories, and even service. Essentially, if it has four wheels and a Maruti badge, the savings will roll in.

While most automakers announce discounts during Diwali or year-end clearances, Maruti’s latest ad suggests the new festival season might just be called “GST 2.0.” And unlike exchange bonuses or “scratch-and-win” schemes, this one doesn’t depend on your luck—just on policy.

As India’s car market gears up for festive demand, one thing is clear: with GST driving affordability, the next bumper-to-bumper traffic jam might actually be a celebration of Viksit Bharat on wheels.
