Royal Run on Charge: MG Windsor Clocks 27,000 Sales, Drives India’s EV Crown Closer to 30K

Gurugram: In a market where buzzwords like “disruption” and “game-changer” are as common as potholes after monsoon, the MG Windsor is putting the “extra” in extraordinary. JSW MG Motor India has proudly declared that its regal electric chariot, the Windsor, has crossed the 27,000* sales mark in just eight months—an EV milestone as swift as a Delhi metro on a caffeine rush.

Leading the charge (pun intended) in the EV segment, the Windsor hasn’t just won hearts in urban sprawls—it’s conquering non-metro terrain too, with nearly 48% of its sales coming from smaller cities. That’s right, this car is so popular it’s practically doing rural outreach on wheels.

The recently launched Windsor EV Pro version—with a bigger battery, more tech, and safety features that would make Fort Knox blush—pulled in a staggering 8,000 bookings in just 24 hours. MG insists they’re still recovering from the digital stampede.

The Windsor also boasts a BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) price that begins at INR 9.99 lakh plus INR 3.9/km+, which makes it royalty-level comfort without royal tax. With 100 kW of power, 200 Nm of torque, and a design dubbed “AeroGlide”, this EV isn’t just breaking sales records—it’s bending design norms while doing yoga in the backseat (thanks to 135° reclining Aero Lounge seats).

With over 30 awards under its belt, including the 2025 iCOTY Green Car Award, the Windsor isn’t just India’s best-selling EV—it’s practically the Shah Rukh Khan of the electric auto world: charming, futuristic, and impossible to ignore.

At this rate, the Windsor isn’t just heading for the 30,000 mark—it’s gunning for the throne. And honestly, with a 15.6” GrandView touch display, who wouldn’t want to rule the road?
