Garnet Red goes full throttle as Citroën spices up the hatchback segment with its sportiest C3 yet
Chennai: Citroën India just gave the humble hatchback a protein shake. Say bonjour to the new C3 Sport Edition—a limited-run, high-energy avatar of the popular C3 that now comes with racing stripes, mood lighting, and enough turbocharged zest to make traffic signals feel like starting grids.
In a move that screams “I go fast, but stylishly,” the Sport Edition debuts in an eye-catching Garnet Red, complemented by ‘Sport’ decals that politely whisper (read: shout) “Catch me if you can”. The cabin? It’s a sporty cocoon of customized seat covers, ambient lighting, and pedals that wouldn’t look out of place in a rally car—just with more cupholders.

But this isn’t just lipstick on a grille. The C3 Sport Edition backs up its looks with muscle:
- A 1.2L Turbo Petrol engine pushing out 110 PS and 205 Nm of torque—more than enough to surprise unsuspecting SUVs at green lights.
- Segment-best 0-100 km/h sprint in 10 seconds, which makes it faster than your morning chai order.
- A real, smooth-shifting 6-speed torque converter automatic, not one of those AMTs that think about shifting before doing it.
For those who like their tech as smart as their steering, an optional Tech Kit adds a wireless charger and dashcam—ideal for recording those “I totally meant to drift that corner” moments.
Offered at just ₹21,000 more than the standard C3 (plus ₹15,000 for the tech goodies), the Sport Edition is as much value as it is verve. Citroën’s Business Head, Kumar Priyesh, called it “a shot of espresso for a car already buzzing with personality”—and we couldn’t agree more.
So if your heart says ‘hot hatch’ but your wallet says ‘let’s be practical’, Citroën may have just built the perfect middle ground—complete with decals, drama, and daily driveability.
Hurry, though—this edition’s limited, and your neighbor’s already checking it out.
