From Sri City to the World: Isuzu Motors India Trucks Ahead to Become Nation’s Top CV Exporter

Where there’s a pickup, there’s a way – and Isuzu Motors India just paved it.

Chennai – In a year where exports were either stuck in traffic or running low on fuel, Isuzu Motors India (IMI) decided to shift gears and zoom past the competition — becoming the top exporter of commercial vehicles (CVs) from India for FY2024-25. With a whopping 20,312 units shipped globally, IMI clocked a 24% year-on-year growth, proving once again that when it comes to pickups, they’re not here to play — they’re here to haul.

The achievement marks a proud moment for IMI, which has been quietly revving its export engines for years. Previously among the top three, it has now taken pole position in a race it seems determined to dominate. And all this, without honking about it.

The Sri City Superpower

At the heart of this triumph lies the high-tech, high-output Sri City manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh, where left-hand drive (LHD) and right-hand drive (RHD) vehicles are born side-by-side like diplomatic twins, destined for countries as diverse as Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and the Middle Eastern Big 6: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Jordan. Clearly, Isuzu’s trucks are better traveled than most passport-holding millennials.

And while the global shipping containers are full of D-MAX pickups and commercial haulers, IMI hasn’t taken its eyes off the domestic road. In recent months, the company has been expanding its dealership footprint across India, making sure that Isuzu fans — from Himachal farmers to Hyderabad entrepreneurs — don’t have to Google “nearest showroom” in vain.

Quotes with Torque

Rajesh Mittal, President & Managing Director of Isuzu Motors India, seemed visibly geared up.
“This milestone is a celebration of our ‘Isuzu Monozukuri’ philosophy. Every pickup we roll out isn’t just a vehicle — it’s a global passport stamped with precision, quality, and the unmistakable Made-in-India pride. And let’s not forget the heart and horsepower our Sri City team brings to the table — or rather, the tarmac.”

Meanwhile, Deputy Managing Director Mr. Toru Kishimoto added, “When global markets say ‘send more’, you know you’re doing something right. From reliability to performance, our vehicles are becoming true ambassadors of Indian manufacturing.”

Let’s just say — this duo isn’t just steering the ship. They’re turbocharging it.

Milestones, Marked with Mudflaps

IMI’s road to this achievement wasn’t paved overnight. From rolling out its 100,000th vehicle recently to meeting SIAM’s high standards with a confident Vroom!, the company has consistently outperformed even as global logistics danced to a chaotic tune. And with the rising demand for reliable, fuel-efficient, and tough-as-nails commercial vehicles, IMI has positioned itself as the one brand that not only delivers cargo — but also delivers on its promises.

Driving the Future

As the world moves towards sustainable mobility and more connected transport ecosystems, Isuzu’s focus on quality and innovation continues to set the tone. While the brand’s signature pickups have become a familiar sight across desert highways and Himalayan backroads alike, its vision extends much further.

With their rally cry of “Never Stop”, Isuzu Motors India isn’t just selling trucks. It’s exporting trust, reliability, and just a little bit of Andhra Pradesh to the world.

So if you spot a rugged pickup hauling goods in Muscat or rolling proudly through Kathmandu, remember — chances are, that steel beast began life in Sri City, humming the Indian national anthem under its bonnet.
