Coimbatore, India – The BMW Golf Cup 2025, the world’s premier amateur golf tournament series, has commenced its India edition with the first tournament in Coimbatore. This highly anticipated series will span nine cities, hosting 18 tournaments at some of India’s most prestigious golf courses, culminating in the national finals in Gurugram later this year.
A Tournament of Prestige and Legacy
Launched over 25 years ago, the BMW Golf Cup has grown into an international phenomenon, uniting 100,000 players across 50 countries through 1,000 qualifying tournaments. Originally conceived as the BMW Invitation Tournament in the UK, it has evolved into a global spectacle, with winners from each nation advancing to the World Final.
In India, the tournament continues its tradition of excellence, offering amateur golfers a platform to showcase their skills in three handicap categories:
- Category A (handicaps up to 12)
- Category B (handicaps 13–28)
- Ladies Category (handicaps up to 28)
Winners from the regional rounds will compete at the national level, and champions from India will represent the country at the World Final.
