Mumbai: Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has further solidified its position in the public transport sector by securing its third consecutive order from the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) in a year. The latest order, comprising 1,297 units of LPO 1618 bus chassis, adds to a cumulative order size exceeding 3,500 units.
The contract was awarded following a competitive e-bidding process, showcasing Tata Motors’ ability to meet the rigorous demands of State Transport Undertakings (STUs). The chassis will be delivered in a phased manner under mutually agreed terms.
The Tata LPO 1618 diesel chassis is specifically designed for intercity and long-distance travel, offering superior performance, enhanced passenger comfort, and low total cost of ownership (TCO).
