A Timeless Icon Reimagined: Jeep Unveils 2025 Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 Special Edition

Celebrating Heritage: Jeep’s 2025 Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 pays homage to its battle-tested ancestor, the 1941 Willys MB, with modern innovation and a vintage-inspired design.

Auburn Hills, Mich. – Jeep has once again bridged its storied past with its innovative present by unveiling the 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 special edition. This limited-edition model channels the legacy of the 1941 Willys MB, the vehicle that cemented Jeep’s reputation as a pioneer of all-terrain capability.

“The original Willys MB was built to tackle the toughest terrains during WWII, and its DNA lives on in everything we create,” said Bob Broderdorf, Senior Vice President of Jeep Brand North America. “The 2025 Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 is more than a tribute; it’s a statement that innovation and heritage can coexist in perfect harmony.”

Design That Echoes the Past

The 2025 Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 stands out with its military-inspired olive drab paint, a nod to the original Willys MB. Its period-correct Drab Blue hood-side decals evoke the U.S. Army’s stenciling of the 1940s, while exclusive 17-inch olive drab wheels wrapped in 33-inch all-terrain tires further enhance its rugged aesthetic. Army-inspired exterior decals and a tan soft top (coming soon) complete the retro look.

Inside, the special edition features tan Heritage cloth seats, an olive drab fabric dashboard, and a unique ’41 shifter medallion. With standard steel bumpers and a rear locking differential, the model is trail-ready while staying true to its roots.

From WWII Workhorse to Modern Marvel

The Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 isn’t just about looks—it embodies 80 years of evolution. Powered by Jeep’s advanced 4xe plug-in hybrid system, it delivers a combined 49 MPGe, 21 miles of all-electric range, and unmatched off-road capability. Its 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, paired with two electric motors and a high-voltage battery pack, represents the future of electrified 4×4 vehicles.

A Legacy That Lives On

The Willys MB began its journey in 1940 when the U.S. Army sought a light reconnaissance vehicle. Willys-Overland’s design outperformed competitors, earning a place in history as the Army’s standard vehicle in 1941. Between 1941 and 1945, nearly 360,000 Jeep vehicles were built, serving as faithful companions on the battlefield.

The Jeep name—rumored to originate from the military term “GP” (general purpose) or the comic character Eugene the Jeep—became synonymous with rugged reliability. Following WWII, the first civilian Jeep (CJ-2A) laid the foundation for the brand’s off-road legacy.

A Future-Ready Classic

With an MSRP of $59,930 (excluding destination charges), the 2025 Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 is now available for order. This special edition will arrive in dealerships before the end of the year, blending its historic roots with Jeep’s electrified future.

From the battlefields of the 1940s to the electrified trails of today, the Willys ’41 reminds us that Jeep is more than a brand—it’s a legacy.
