In a significant push to improve road infrastructure and spur economic development, Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced the approval of major road projects in Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, allocating a combined investment of over ₹1,155 crore.
In Andhra Pradesh, a ₹252.42 crore investment has been sanctioned for constructing a six-lane elevated corridor in Ranasthalam, Srikakulam. This corridor is expected to ease traffic bottlenecks, enhance safety, and drive urban mobility in the region. “This project will not only ease congestion but also stimulate economic activity, contributing to a better quality of life for residents,” Gadkari shared on social media, underscoring the project’s broad socio-economic impact.
Meanwhile, in Madhya Pradesh, the government has approved ₹903.44 crore for upgrading the Gyaraspur to Rahatgarh section of National Highway-146. This section is a critical part of the Bhopal-Kanpur corridor, and the project aims to strengthen regional trade, streamline connectivity, and support economic growth through enhanced infrastructure.
These projects reflect the government’s focused approach toward improving national connectivity and fostering growth by investing in vital transportation corridors across states.
