In a strategic move to make electric vehicles more accessible, JSW MG Motor India has extended its pioneering ‘Battery-as-a-Service’ (BaaS) program to include the popular Comet EV and ZS EV models. This expansion follows the successful launch of the BaaS concept with the MG Windsor, which garnered an enthusiastic response from consumers.
Under the extended BaaS program, customers can now own the MG Comet EV at a starting price of ₹4.99 lakh, coupled with a battery rental fee of ₹2.5 per kilometer. Similarly, the MG ZS EV is available starting at ₹13.99 lakh with a battery rental of ₹4.5 per kilometer. This innovative model significantly reduces the initial acquisition cost by allowing customers to pay a nominal fee for battery usage based on their actual mileage.
Adding to the program’s appeal, MG Motor India is offering an assured buyback value of 60% after three years of ownership. This guarantee provides customers with confidence in their investment and underscores the company’s commitment to a seamless ownership experience.

The expansion of the BaaS program is supported by partnerships with leading financial institutions, including Bajaj Finserv, Hero Fincorp, Vidyut, and Ecofy Autovert. These collaborations aim to provide a seamless and convenient financing experience for customers nationwide.
The MG Comet EV features a spacious interior within a compact design, ideal for navigating urban environments and tight turns. It boasts a certified range of 230 km on a single charge and includes over 55 i-SMART features for enhanced connectivity and convenience. The MG ZS EV, India’s first pure electric internet SUV, comes equipped with a 50.3 kWh battery pack, delivering a certified driving range of 461 km on a single charge.
By extending the BaaS program to these models, MG Motor India aims to lower the barriers to EV ownership and promote sustainable mobility solutions in the Indian automotive market.
