Bangalore, 01 September 2024: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) continues to strengthen its foothold in the Indian automotive market, posting impressive sales figures for August 2024. The company recorded a significant 35% growth in wholesale numbers, selling 30,879 units compared to 22,910 units in the same month last year.
This robust performance includes 28,589 units sold domestically and 2,290 units exported, underscoring TKM’s commitment to delivering high-quality vehicles both in India and abroad. The company’s success isn’t just limited to the month of August; the first eight months of 2024 have seen an extraordinary 45% increase in sales compared to the same period in 2023. From January to August 2024, TKM sold 212,785 units, a substantial leap from the 147,192 units sold in 2023.
Sabari Manohar, Vice President of Sales-Service-Used Car Business at TKM, expressed optimism as the company heads into the festive season. “We are witnessing heightened consumer interest and increased footfall across all our dealerships,” he stated. He highlighted that the demand for SUVs and MPVs is robust not only in major urban centers but also in tier 2 and tier 3 markets, reflecting the widespread appeal of these segments.
In response to market demand, TKM reopened bookings in August for the popular Innova Hycross ZX & ZX (O) models, available in both self-charging strong hybrid electric (SHEV) and gasoline variants. The company has also streamlined production and supply chains, reducing waiting periods for customers, particularly for the top-end grades and the Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
This steady growth signals a strong trajectory for TKM as it continues to meet and exceed customer expectations in India’s dynamic automotive landscape.
