Rolls-Royce Launches Phantom Scintilla: A Masterpiece Honoring the Spirit of Ecstasy

In a tribute to over a century of elegance and artistry, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has unveiled the Phantom Scintilla Private Collection, an exquisite homage to the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy. As the marque celebrates its 120th anniversary in 2024, this limited-edition collection encapsulates the ethereal beauty and timeless allure that have defined Rolls-Royce since its inception.

The Phantom Scintilla, limited to just ten meticulously crafted examples worldwide, is based on the Phantom Extended, a model renowned as the ultimate canvas for bespoke commissions. The collection’s design draws inspiration from the graceful and dynamic form of the Spirit of Ecstasy, the emblem that has graced the prow of every Rolls-Royce since 1911.

A key feature of this collection is the Spirit of Ecstasy figurine, rendered in an exquisite ceramic finish that evokes the purity and radiance of Parian marble, the same material used for the ancient Greek sculpture that inspired the original mascot. This homage to the Winged Victory of Samothrace, a statue that left a lasting impression on Rolls-Royce’s founding figures, blends the past with the present in a celebration of classical elegance.

Inside, the Phantom Scintilla showcases Rolls-Royce’s most intricate interior design to date. The cabin is adorned with 869,500 stitches, creating a flowing motif that captures the Spirit of Ecstasy’s sense of movement and grace. The centerpiece of the interior is the ‘Celestial Pulse’ Gallery artwork, a bespoke creation featuring seven ribbons of solid aluminum, polished to reflect light and create a sense of fluid motion.

The collection’s attention to detail extends to every aspect of the car, from the animated Starlight Headliner that mimics the flowing gown of the Spirit of Ecstasy to the delicate graphics on the rear picnic tables, all hand-finished to perfection. The exterior of the Phantom Scintilla is equally striking, with a two-tone finish inspired by the colors of the sea around the island of Samothrace, where the Winged Victory statue originates.

The Phantom Scintilla Private Collection is a testament to Rolls-Royce’s commitment to crafting super-luxury products that transcend mere automobiles, becoming cherished works of art. Available exclusively through Rolls-Royce’s international Private Office network, these ten masterpieces are not just cars—they are a celebration of history, craftsmanship, and the enduring legacy of the Spirit of Ecstasy.
