In a bold step towards electrifying its high-performance lineup, BMW M GmbH has unveiled the all-new BMW M5 Touring, blending unparalleled power with everyday versatility. This latest addition to the M family boasts a hybrid drive system, combining a robust V8 engine with an electric motor to deliver an astonishing 727 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque. This innovative system allows the M5 Touring to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.6 seconds, making it a force to be reckoned with on both the road and track.
Set to debut at Monterey Car Week in California in mid-August 2024, the M5 Touring marks the third M car equipped with BMW’s M Hybrid technology, offering a multifaceted driving experience that seamlessly transitions from thrilling performance to eco-friendly urban commutes. With a WLTP-rated electric range of 61 to 67 kilometers (38 to 42 miles) and the ability to reach speeds of up to 140 km/h (87 mph) in electric-only mode, this model sets new standards in the high-performance segment.
The M5 Touring’s exterior design reflects its dual nature: a sleek, athletic stance underscored by the brand’s signature M design elements. The large air intakes, bold kidney grille, and muscular rear end emphasize its power, while the Touring’s signature long roofline and expansive cargo space of up to 1,630 liters ensure practicality isn’t sacrificed for performance.
Under the hood, the M Hybrid system pairs a 4.4-liter V8 engine with a 145 kW (197 hp) electric motor, delivering a combined output that redefines what a high-performance wagon can achieve.
