Audi is set to make waves in the mid-size segment with the launch of its new A5 models, marking a significant evolution in design, technology, and performance. Thirty years after the debut of the Audi A4, the new A5 family reimagines luxury with refined aesthetics and advanced features.
A Bold New Look for Sedan and Avant
The A5 lineup, available as both Sedan and Avant, showcases Audi’s commitment to modern sportiness and premium proportions. The redesigned exterior boasts a longer wheelbase, larger wheels, and a sleek, low body, emphasizing dynamic performance and elegance. The Sedan features a coupe-like rear, while the Avant’s taut roofline and integrated roof spoiler highlight its sporty appeal.
Cutting-Edge Interior and Technology
Inside, the A5 models offer a revolutionary design centered around user comfort and digital innovation. The Digital Stage concept places Audi’s MMI displays prominently, creating a spacious and intuitive environment. The new electronic architecture enhances interaction with the vehicle, supported by a curved, OLED Audi MMI panoramic display, and an optional front passenger display.
Efficient and Electrified Performance
The new A5 models introduce the advanced MHEV plus technology, allowing for partially electric driving. This 48-volt system reduces CO2 emissions and enhances performance, with the powertrain generator supporting the combustion engine. The lineup includes a range of efficient engines, from the entry-level 2.0 TFSI to the high-performance 3.0-liter V6 TFSI in the S5, all benefiting from Audi’s innovative hybrid system.
Striking Exterior and Advanced Lighting
Audi’s new A5 family features a bold design with a wide, flatter Singleframe grille and sharp headlights. The digital OLED rear lights offer advanced safety and aesthetic benefits, enabling car-to-x communication and dynamic lighting effects. The sculptural rear design integrates intelligent technology, combining form and function seamlessly.
Enhanced Driving Dynamics
With improved suspension and steering, the A5 models deliver precise, agile handling. Optional adaptive dampers allow for a customizable driving experience, balancing comfort and sportiness. The S5 models, equipped with a quattro sport differential, further enhance lateral dynamics for a thrilling drive.
Market Launch and Pricing
The new Audi A5 and S5 will be available in Germany and other European markets starting November, with orders opening in July 2024. The entry-level Audi A5 Sedan TFSI 110 kW will start at EUR 45,200 (INR 41.16 lakh), featuring standard navigation, an electric rear hatch, and inductive charging.
