BMW Unveils the Fourth-Generation X3 with Enhanced Design, Efficiency, and Performance
BMW has introduced the latest iteration of its best-selling X3, bringing a new level of sporty appeal, visual impact, and versatility. The fourth-generation Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) for the premium midsize segment showcases a refreshed design language, superior materials, and advanced digital features, making it a standout in everyday use, leisure activities, and long-distance travel.
Striking Design and Enhanced Presence
The new BMW X3’s exterior design boasts an almost monolithic appearance with distinctive BMW X model proportions. The SAV is 34 millimeters longer and 29 millimeters wider than its predecessor, with a 25-millimeter reduction in height, giving it a powerful and sporty look. The large, upright kidney grille, new LED headlights, and a sleek silhouette with bold side skirts and flared wheel arches contribute to its commanding presence.
Luxurious and Spacious Interior
Inside, the BMW X3 offers a blend of robust functionality and premium ambiance. The cabin features the BMW Curved Display, BMW Interaction Bar, and a flat-bottomed steering wheel, all contributing to a modern, driver-focused design. The interior also provides generous space, with a load capacity ranging from 570 to 1,700 liters, and various upholstery options, including the new Luxury instrument panel made from recycled polyester.
Advanced Powertrains and Performance
The new BMW X3 offers a diverse range of powertrains, including highly efficient petrol and diesel engines and a latest-generation plug-in hybrid system. The BMW X3 30e xDrive plug-in hybrid delivers an electric range of 81-90 kilometers and combines a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor, producing up to 220 kW/299 hp. The range-topping BMW X3 M50 xDrive features a 3.0-liter M TwinPower Turbo engine with 48V mild hybrid technology, delivering 293 kW/398 hp and a 0-100 km/h time of 4.6 seconds.
Cutting-Edge Technology and Safety Features
The new BMW X3 is equipped with the latest BMW iDrive system with QuickSelect, based on BMW Operating System 9, offering intuitive touch and voice control. Standard features include three-zone automatic climate control, acoustic glazing, Comfort Access, and BMW Live Cockpit Plus with cloud-based BMW Maps. The SAV also boasts an extensive range of driver assistance systems, such as front collision warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Parking Assistant.
Commitment to Sustainability
BMW continues its commitment to sustainability with the new X3, built at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg in the USA and Plant Rosslyn in South Africa using resource-conserving production processes. The SAV’s market launch will begin in Europe and the USA in the fourth quarter of 2024, with availability expanding to other markets in January 2025.
The new BMW X3 marks a significant step forward in design, performance, and technology, setting the stage for continued success in the premium midsize SAV segment.
