Audi Q7 Bold Edition Review: The Ultimate Blend of Luxury, Power, and Cutting-Edge Technology

The Audi Q7 Bold Edition, a German SUV, continues to impress with its 2024 facelift variant. Originally launched in 2005, this second-generation model is available exclusively in petrol. The price starts at ₹86.92 lakh ex-showroom, with the top model priced at ₹97.84 lakh.

This Bold Edition will have limited availability and features a sporty exterior with a black styling package. The design includes a gloss black octagonal Singleframe grille with vertical slats, black Audi rings, and black roof rails. Renowned car designer Wolfgang Egger, known for his work on models like the BYD Seal, SEAT Ibiza, Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, and several Lamborghini, Porsche, Skoda, and Audi cars, crafted this vehicle.

In terms of dimensions, the Q7 measures 5.1 meters in length, 1.7 meters in height, and 2 meters in width. It has a kerb weight of approx. 2200 kg and a gross weight of 3000 kg, with a ground clearance of 178 mm. The SUV is built on the Volkswagen Group’s Modular Longitudinal Matrix (MLB Evo) platform, which is shared with models like the Q5, Q8, e-tron, Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Cayenne, Bentley Bentayga, and Volkswagen Touareg. The construction features a multi-material blend of aluminum and steel.

The Q7 Bold Edition is powered by a 2995 cc, V6, TFSI petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. It delivers 340 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 5.6 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h. The engine is mated to a ZF 8HP 8-speed tiptronic automatic transmission. With Audi Drive Select, drivers can choose from seven drive modes: Auto, Comfort, Dynamic, Efficiency, Off-Road, All-Road, and Individual. The adaptive air suspension with variable damping ensures a smooth ride on all terrains.

Safety is paramount in the Q7, which has earned a 5-star rating from Euro NCAP. The SUV is equipped with 8 airbags, ABS, electronic stability program, lane departure warning with steering assist, park assist plus, a 360-degree 3D surround camera, keyless entry, tire pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat mounting, electronic immobilizer, hold assist, first aid kit, and a warning triangle.

Inside, the Q7 Bold Edition offers a luxurious and spacious cabin. It is a 7-seater SUV with electrically folding third-row seats. The vehicle provides 740 liters of boot space, which can expand to 1925 liters with the second-row seats folded down. Comfort features include electrically adjustable front seats with 4-way lumbar support and adjustable second-row seats with reclining function. The 3-spoke leather-wrapped multi-function Plus steering wheel enhances the driving experience.

The infotainment system features a 10.1-inch MMI display supporting Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, USB, LTE advanced, Wi-Fi hotspot, voice control, Audi connect, FM, and radio. The 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit full HD instrument cluster provides all necessary driving information. Audi has also included a 19-speaker, 730-watt Bang & Olufsen premium 3D sound system for an immersive audio experience. The 4-zone fully automatic climate control includes rain, sun, and humidity sensors, active charcoal and electrostatic filters, air ionizer, and aromatization.

The exterior lighting system includes Matrix LED headlamps with signature DRL, washer, 64 LEDs, high-performance laser diode, cornering light, and dynamic turn indicators. The SUV is fitted with 19-inch 5-arm star-style design dual-tone painted alloy wheels and 255/55 R19 111Y Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport radial tubeless steel-belted run-flat tires. The power-adjustable heated and folding auto-dimming black outside mirrors come with memory, camera, and turn indicator features.

Audi provides a 2-year warranty with 5 years of roadside assistance for the Q7. With its luxurious features, advanced safety systems, and powerful performance, the Audi Q7 Bold Edition is a compelling choice for SUV enthusiasts.
