Karnal, June 7, 2024 — In a significant move aimed at supporting the underprivileged, the Haryana Government has introduced the Haryana Antyodaya Parivar Parivahan Yojana (HAPPY). This innovative scheme offers free travel up to 1,000 kilometers per year in government buses to families in need.
The distribution of new travel cards under the HAPPY scheme commenced today across all 36 depots and sub-depots throughout the state. The initiative seeks to alleviate transportation costs for poor families, enhancing their mobility and access to essential services.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh spearheaded the state-level launch of the HAPPY scheme in Karnal, where he personally handed out the first batch of travel cards. Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Singh emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and ensuring equitable access to public resources.
“With the HAPPY scheme, we aim to provide tangible support to families struggling with transportation expenses. This initiative is a step towards creating an inclusive and supportive society,” said Chief Minister Singh.
The government has also set up a helpline number, 0172-5200600, to assist beneficiaries with any queries related to the scheme. The launch of the HAPPY scheme marks a progressive step towards social welfare and is expected to benefit thousands of families across Haryana.
