Kinetic Green Energizes Leadership: Debashis Mitra Appointed as New 3-Wheeler Business President

Pune, April 29, 2024 – In a strategic move aimed at bolstering its leadership within the electric vehicle sector, Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions Limited, a prominent name in the manufacture of electric two and three-wheelers, has announced the appointment of Debashis Mitra as the new President of its 3-wheeler Business. With over thirty years of rich experience in the automotive industry, Mitra is poised to drive the company’s ambitious plans forward.

Under his leadership, Kinetic Green looks to deepen its footprint in the electric three-wheeler (E3W) market, focusing on expanding into the L5 passenger segment, a complement to its existing lineup in both the L3 and L5 categories. His appointment comes at a time when the company is set to escalate its dealership network from 160 to 350 by the end of fiscal year 2024-25, underscoring a robust growth strategy.

Mitra’s illustrious career, highlighted by stints at major automotive firms such as Mercedes Benz and Toyota Kirloskar, showcases a track record of substantial achievements, including a drastic increase in passenger car sales and market share growth at Mercedes Benz India. His recent tenure at AltiGreen also saw him capturing a significant market share in the three-wheeler segment through strategic expansions and partnerships.

As Mitra prepares to take over from Paul Zacharia, who is set for retirement in June 2024, his focus will be on leveraging his vast experience to fortify Kinetic Green’s market position in the fast-evolving E3W domain. His responsibilities will include overseeing profit and loss, collaborating with R&D, and driving product innovation.

Commenting on the new appointment, Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder and CEO of Kinetic Green, expressed her enthusiasm about Mitra’s capabilities in navigating the critical growth phase of their 3-wheeler business, which she described as holding “significant strategic importance and substantial opportunity for growth.”

Mitra expressed his excitement about his new role, emphasizing his commitment to innovation and operational excellence. “I am thrilled to embark on this exciting journey with Kinetic Green,” he stated. “We are poised to set new benchmarks in the EV industry, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.”

With this strategic leadership shift, Kinetic Green is clearly setting the stage for a dynamic expansion in India’s bustling electric vehicle market.
