Gurugram, April 23, 2024 – Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) is celebrating a triple triumph with its Nissan Magnite SUV, marking its third consecutive year of surpassing 30,000 sales. This achievement not only highlights the Magnite’s strong market presence but also celebrates crossing over 100,000 domestic sales, a significant milestone in the competitive Indian B-SUV segment.
Since its launch in December 2020, the Magnite has become a favorite among Indian consumers, leading Nissan to a remarkable milestone of 100,000 domestic customers by January 2024. The Magnite’s appeal is further bolstered by its international success, with over 30,000 units exported, underscoring its global appeal.
Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, emphasized the SUV’s disruptive impact on the market, stating, “The Nissan Magnite has defied conventions and played a pivotal role in shaping the B-SUV segment in India. The credit goes to our loyal customers whose trust has driven our efforts.”
Frank Torres, President of Nissan India Operations, also expressed gratitude towards the customers and dealers, stating, “The Nissan Magnite has been a game-changer, redefining the segment and setting high standards in the industry. We are committed to continuing our legacy of excellence and innovation, deeply rooted in our Japanese heritage.”
The Magnite’s success story is supported by its robust range of variants, including the Turbo, MT, affordable AMT, and CVT options. The model celebrated another significant production achievement in June, rolling out its 100,000th unit from the RNAIPL plant in Chennai, with the 100,000th domestic sale occurring in January 2024.
Expanding its global footprint, the Nissan Magnite is now exported to 15 countries, with recent launches in Seychelles, Bangladesh, Uganda, and Brunei. This global reach is part of Nissan’s strategic shift to focus more on Middle Eastern markets, moving away from its earlier European focus.
The Magnite has also been lauded with several awards, including the ‘2023 ICONIC Brand of the Year’ at the Dainik Jagran INext ICONIC Awards and the ‘Compact SUV of the Year 2021’ by Top Gear, among others. The recently launched Nissan Magnite Kuro Edition also clinched the ‘Variant of the Year Award 2024’ at the Carbike360-2024 Awards, adding to its impressive list of accolades.
Nissan’s ongoing success with the Magnite is a testament to its commitment to quality and innovation, making it a stalwart in both the domestic and international markets.
