Electrifying Bargain Rolls into the UK: Dacia’s Spring Zaps High Prices, Starting at £14,995

In a shockingly affordable turn of events, Dacia has unveiled its latest electric marvel, the All-New Spring, set to become the UK’s cheapest ticket to electric vehicle (EV) ownership at an eye-popping starting price of just £14,995 (INR 15.87 lakh). Undercutting its nearest electric rival by a significant margin, this price revelation positions the Spring not only as the most wallet-friendly EV in the UK but also as one of the top 10 most affordable cars available on British roads today, irrespective of power source.

Sporting the moniker Renault Kwid in India, the Dacia Spring is available for British consumers in two distinct flavours: the mid-range Expression and the fully-loaded Extreme trim levels. Each version promises a suite of standard features including a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, cruise control, manual air conditioning, and a rear parking sensor ensemble, making the Spring a comprehensive package of convenience and connectivity.

Offering a range of up to 220 km on the mixed cycle or an impressive 299 km in urban settings, thanks to its compact 26.8 kWh battery, the Spring ensures drivers can confidently navigate city streets and beyond without frequent charging stops. Furthermore, a four-hour boost from 20% to 100% battery life is achievable with a 7kW wall box, simplifying the charging process for the modern motorist.

Eager customers can secure their place in the driving seat by placing a £99 deposit via the Dacia website, with the added perk of a £250 bonus towards either a charge pass, accessories, or a home charger, offering a tailor-made advantage to suit individual needs.

The All-New Spring boasts not only affordability and efficiency but also a choice of powertrains and a plethora of equipment options starting from the Expression trim, ensuring there’s a Spring to suit every driver’s taste. The Extreme trim ups the ante with exclusive copper finishes and advanced multimedia connectivity, alongside an array of new ADAS safety features meeting the latest European standards.

With its debut set for October in the UK, Dacia’s Spring is poised to make a significant impact on the electric vehicle market, offering unparalleled affordability without compromising on quality or functionality. Luke Broad, Dacia Brand Director for the UK, expressed confidence in the Spring’s potential to propel the EV movement forward, citing its unbeatable price point and comprehensive feature set as key factors in its anticipated success.

As pre-orders open from 12 March 2024, the All-New Dacia Spring is charging ahead, ready to electrify the British automotive landscape with its compelling blend of affordability, efficiency, and innovation.
