Peterbilt Unleashes ‘Dreamliner’ of the Road: New 72-Inch Sleeper Turns Trucks into Rolling Palaces

Denton, TX, March 8, 2024 – In a groundbreaking move that’s set to redefine the highway skyline, Peterbilt has rolled out a luxurious new addition to its fleet, the 72-inch low roof sleeper for the legendary Model 589, affectionately dubbed the ‘Dreamliner’ of the road. This new sleeper combines the elegance of a high-end apartment with the rugged charm of a Peterbilt truck, offering both style and comfort for the long-haul lifestyle.

Jake Montero, Peterbilt’s assistant general manager of sales and marketing, couldn’t contain his enthusiasm, stating, “The Model 589’s new 72-inch low roof sleeper is where functionality meets flair. It’s designed for those who demand efficiency without sacrificing their swagger. With options for chrome embellishments and other accessories, drivers can now hit the road in style and make a statement.”

Decked out with a full suite of amenities, the new sleeper includes an array of storage solutions such as a full-height wardrobe, a passenger side microwave tray, an optional refrigerator, and even a spot for a 22-inch flat-screen TV. Power provisions are ample, with four standard 12V outlets and factory-installed inverters, ensuring that drivers have all the comforts of home while on the move.

But it’s not just about the inside. The Model 589 holds its own in terms of power and performance, boasting engines that range from 405 to 605 horsepower and peak torque from 1,450 to 2,050 lb.-ft. It’s equipped with heavy-duty transmissions and an enhanced air intake system, making it a formidable presence on any highway.

The aesthetic appeal of the Model 589 nods to its Peterbilt lineage, inheriting the low-long hood and distinctive crown of the Model 379, while introducing new elements like the rectangular grille mesh and updated headlamp pods for a modern twist. The truck also features a luxury interior with rich colors, supple leather accents, and larger-than-ever dual cupholders for those essential road trip beverages.

Available across North America through Peterbilt’s extensive dealer network, this ‘Dreamliner’ on wheels is not just a mode of transport but a bold statement of luxury and efficiency on the open road. It proves once again that when it comes to combining performance with panache, Peterbilt is in a class of its own.
