In a grand display of infrastructural ambition, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, unfurled the blueprint for a mega highway overhaul in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, marking a significant milestone with the laying of foundation stones for 15 National Highway projects. This colossal endeavor, pegged at a whopping Rs 8,038 crore, aims to stretch across 499 kilometers, weaving a network of development and connectivity across the region.
The ceremonial event saw a galaxy of dignitaries, including Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Speaker of Madhya Pradesh Assembly Narendra Singh Tomar, along with BJP State President V.D. Sharma, and State Ministers Prahlad Singh Patel and Rakesh Singh, lending their presence and support to this monumental initiative.
The highlight reel of the projects includes a significant widening of the Ayodhya bypass section, transforming the Budhni to Shahganj stretch into a 4-lane wonder, and upgrading the Shahganj to Bari section to 4 lanes, alongside the construction of 2-lane bypasses for Morena, Ambah, Porsa, and the Sheopur Gorsa stretch from the Madhya Pradesh-Rajasthan border.
These projects are not just about laying down asphalt; they’re about paving the way for economic growth, reducing traffic jams that have long plagued travelers between Kanpur and Bhopal, and bolstering the state’s ambition to emerge as a new industrial and agricultural nucleus.
