In a high-octane career move, Giovanni Perosino has revved up his journey by joining Maserati as the new global Chief Marketing Officer, adding a turbocharged twist to the legendary House of the Trident’s leadership team. This appointment, announced in Modena on January 18, 2024, signals a strategic pit stop for Perosino in a career that has been all about accelerating through the automotive and luxury sectors.
Hailing from Turin, Perosino took the wheel at Maserati on January 8, bringing over two decades of experience and an evident passion for sports cars. His career took off at FIAT in 2001, starting as the Lancia Communications Director. Over the next ten years, he navigated through various roles, eventually climbing to the Group Vice-President of Marketing Communications, directly reporting to the renowned Sergio Marchionne.
Perosino then shifted gears to the Volkswagen Group and Audi between 2010 and 2019, where he played a pivotal role in steering marketing initiatives, contributing to the brands’ growth with successful model launches and winning ad campaigns. His leadership skills were also on full display at Lamborghini, where he spearheaded a team of over 200 Sales & Marketing professionals, driving global business development across multiple fronts.
Before joining the Maserati team, Perosino spent the last two years flying high as the Chief Marketing Officer at ITA Airways, only to return to his first love – the automotive world. At Maserati, he will be in the driver’s seat of Marketing & Communications, reporting to Brand CEO Davide Grasso.
Davide Grasso, Maserati CEO, expressed excitement about Perosino’s arrival, confident in his ability to fuel Maserati’s ambitions at a crucial time for the brand. Perosino himself is thrilled to be back in the automotive lane, ready to steer Maserati, a beacon in the realm of exclusive Italian cars, towards a future charged with innovation and luxury.
