Dubai, December 15, 2023 – BAIC, a leader in off-road vehicle manufacturing, has officially launched the BJ60 in the United Arab Emirates, marking a significant step in the brand’s journey towards urbanization and smart technology integration. The BJ60 is engineered to tackle tough off-road environments while providing a serene and comfortable driving experience.
The BJ60 introduces a bold new design that innovates on BAIC’s off-road family tradition. Its front features a narrow grille with a redesigned U-shaped five-hole element, illuminated by LED strips. This is complemented by a U-shaped four-point headlight assembly and lower LED daytime running lights, enhancing the vehicle’s visual recognition.
The vehicle’s rugged and powerful stance is accentuated by a black-painted bumper that protrudes from the body. With dimensions of 5020mm in length, 1955mm in width, and 1925mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2820mm, the BJ60 positions itself as a mid-size SUV with a distinct off-road character.
Inside, the BJ60 caters to a younger audience with features like ventilated and heated front seats, multi-color ambient lighting, and a modernized cockpit with an electronic gear lever and a piano black-painted layout. The inclusion of a full-size panoramic sunroof enhances the interior’s visual appeal.
This SUV blends off-road prowess with luxury comfort and smart technology. It is powered by a 2.0T gasoline engine coupled with a ZF 8-speed gearbox and includes a 48V Light Hybrid (MHEV) system for smoother starts and quicker acceleration. Despite its considerable size, the BJ60 demonstrates agility and robustness in off-road conditions.
The vehicle retains classic off-road features such as high ground clearance, non-unibody construction, part-time four-wheel drive, and three differential locks. The All Terrain System offers 17 driving modes, along with crawl control, 360 Panoramic Image, and 180 Transparent Chassis, making it a standout in off-road performance.
The BJ60’s non-load-bearing body and four-wheel independent suspension system ensure linkage rigidity and excellent vibration isolation. This reduces the impact of road forces, enhancing comfort and smoothness. The vehicle’s flexibility in handling bumpy road conditions provides passengers with a unique and comfortable off-road experience.
BAIC’s BJ60 is expected to appeal to domestic off-road enthusiasts who seek a blend of rugged capability, luxury comfort, and advanced technology.
