Monaco – Refined Marques, a prominent supercar dealer, has made a significant entry into bespoke vehicle design with the launch of its Mercedes-AMG G63 Cabriolet. This limited edition, with only 20 units available globally, is priced at a staggering 1.2 million Euros ($1.32 million, INR 11.05 crore) each.
The Mercedes-AMG G63, while renowned for its robust performance, has never been released in a convertible format by Mercedes. This gap in the market led Refined Marques to take on the challenge, creating a vehicle that caters to the luxurious and exclusive tastes of high-end car enthusiasts.
The genesis of this project traces back to a unique family story. The owner of Refined Marques, inspired by his son’s imaginative request for a Brabus G700 with a soft-top roof and an easy-access door, embarked on the journey of creating this one-of-a-kind model. The enthusiasm sparked by this singular creation soon caught the attention of luxury SUV aficionados, particularly those who owned the G500 Cabriolet Final Edition 200 and were seeking an upgraded, modern alternative.
Addressing the shortcomings of the previous G500 Cabriolet, Refined Marques has incorporated features like rear suicide doors, enhanced rear legroom, and a more user-friendly roof and trunk opening mechanism. The demand for increased power has been met with the 2024 Mercedes-AMG G63’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, boasting 577 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque.
In contrast, the G500 Cabriolet Final Edition 200, the last convertible model offered by Mercedes for the G-Class, featured a 5.5-liter V8 engine with considerably lower power outputs. This new iteration, therefore, represents a significant upgrade in terms of performance and luxury.
The first model of this exclusive series was recently showcased in Monaco, flaunting a China Blue exterior with a red leather interior. The soft top, in matching red, adds to its elegance. Unlike its predecessors, each of the 20 units will be uniquely customized, offering buyers a range of options for personalization in colors and specifications.
With 17 of the 20 units already claimed, Refined Marques’ venture into custom luxury vehicles seems to be a resounding success. The company’s innovative approach, blending high performance with bespoke luxury, has set a new benchmark in the world of elite automotive design.
