New Delhi: Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) recorded total sales of 6,955 units in September 2026, comprising 4,465 units in the domestic market and 2,490 units in exports, as the automaker prepares to introduce the New Elevate during the festive season.
The latest figures represent a decline from September 2025, when Honda Cars India reported domestic sales of 5,303 units and exports of 2,793 units. Combined sales in September last year stood at 8,096 units.
On a year-on-year basis, Honda’s total volumes declined by approximately 14.1%, while domestic sales were down about 15.8%. Exports fell roughly 10.8% compared with the corresponding month last year.
Despite the lower overall volumes, the company said the Honda City and Honda Amaze showed positive sales momentum during September.
Sharing his thoughts on the sales performance, Mr. Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “We are pleased to see positive sales momentum for the Honda City and Honda Amaze during the month. We are also gearing up for the launch of New Elevate, which will further strengthen our SUV offering with a refreshed and enhanced package. With the festive season underway and an exciting product introduction ahead, we look forward to building stronger momentum in the coming months.”
New Elevate in Focus
Honda is now preparing for the launch of the New Elevate, which the company says will bring a refreshed and enhanced package to its SUV portfolio.
The Elevate is an important part of Honda’s Indian product line-up, alongside the City and Amaze, and the upcoming update arrives as automakers look to make the most of festive-season demand.
September’s numbers show that Honda still has ground to recover compared with the same period last year. The company, however, is banking on improving demand for the City and Amaze along with the refreshed Elevate to strengthen its position in the months ahead.
With India’s festive buying season underway, the next few months will provide a clearer indication of whether fresh products and seasonal demand can translate Honda’s stated sales momentum into stronger overall volumes.
