Ahmedabad: Lexus India has opened a new Guest Experience Centre (GEC) in Ahmedabad, marking the first step in a planned expansion of its retail network as the luxury carmaker seeks to improve access to its vehicles and services across major Indian markets.
The Ahmedabad facility has been established by Bharat Toyota Tsusho Kirloskar Motor Private Limited (BTTKM), which operates under the trade name Lexus Bharat. The company is a newly formed joint venture between Kirloskar Systems Private Limited (KSPL), Toyota Tsusho India Private Limited (TTIPL) and Japan-based Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC).
The centre was inaugurated by Geetanjali Vikram Kirloskar, Chairperson and Managing Director of KSPL; Nobuaki Yahiro, Managing Director of TTIPL; Tadashi Asazuma, Deputy Managing Director of Toyota Kirloskar Motor; and Hikaru Ikeuchi, President of Lexus India.
Senior executives from Lexus Bharat, Toyota Kirloskar Motor and dealer partners were also present at the inauguration.
Ahmedabad becomes part of Lexus’ wider network push
Lexus said the Ahmedabad GEC represents the beginning of a broader effort to strengthen its Guest Experience Centre network across India.
The company currently operates GECs in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Kochi and Ahmedabad.
The expansion comes as luxury carmakers continue to look beyond India’s largest metropolitan markets and increase their presence in cities where demand for premium vehicles is growing.
Gujarat, and Ahmedabad in particular, has emerged as an important luxury automotive market, making the new facility a strategic addition to Lexus’ national footprint.
Speaking at the inauguration, Hikaru Ikeuchi, President, Lexus India, said:
“India’s luxury automotive market is evolving rapidly, with guests increasingly seeking distinctive luxury products, meaningful experiences and brands that align with their values. At Lexus, our vision is to make the Lexus experience more accessible by bringing our brand closer to guests across the country. The inauguration of Ahmedabad Guest Experience Centre marks the beginning of an important milestone for Lexus India. Gujarat represents a vibrant and growing luxury market, and we are delighted to welcome guests into a space that truly embodies our commitment to craftsmanship, innovation and exceptional hospitality. Through our strengthened network presence, we aim to create deeper connections with our guests while delivering the unique luxury experience that defines Lexus.”
New centre combines Japanese and Indian hospitality concepts
The Ahmedabad facility has been designed around Lexus’ “YET” philosophy, combining what the company describes as “Simple yet Elegant” and “Minimal yet Rich” experiences.
Its retail environment integrates contemporary design with customer hospitality, while drawing on the Japanese concept of Omotenashi, centred on anticipating guests’ needs, alongside India’s traditional philosophy of Atithi Devo Bhava.
In other words, the luxury-car showroom is increasingly becoming about more than polished metal and leather seats; automakers are placing nearly as much emphasis on what happens before and after the keys change hands.
Sreenivas Chivikula, Managing Director, Lexus Bharat, said:
“The opening of our Guest Experience Centre at Ahmedabad represents more than the inauguration of a new facility; it marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Lexus in India. Lexus Bharat is committed to supporting Lexus India’s efforts to deliver expectational guest experiences. As we enter new markets, our focus remains on delivering world-class luxury retail standards and personalized guest experiences that embody Lexus’ unique experience.”
Sales and service under one regional ecosystem
Visitors to the Ahmedabad centre can explore Lexus vehicles, technologies and electrified mobility offerings. Lexus also operates a Service Point in Ahmedabad for vehicle maintenance and aftersales requirements.
The company said it currently has 18 Lexus Service Point touchpoints as part of its effort to expand its aftersales presence and make servicing more accessible to customers.
Aftersales support is becoming an increasingly important element of competition in India’s luxury vehicle market, where customers typically expect not only premium products but also convenient servicing and a high level of support throughout the ownership period.
Warranty, roadside assistance and buyback programmes
Lexus India also offers a five-year Roadside Assistance package covering services including towing, taxi assistance and repatriation.
For all models, the company offers an eight-year/200,000 km vehicle and hybrid battery warranty, according to the release.
Lexus also provides an Assured Buy Back Program for the RX, NX and ES, offering low EMIs and a Guaranteed Future Residual Value.
Its Lexus Luxury Care service packages are available in three options — Comfort, Relax and Premiere — aimed at covering different ownership and maintenance requirements.
The Ahmedabad opening signals Lexus India’s intention to broaden its reach while putting retail experience and aftersales support alongside the cars themselves. As competition intensifies in India’s expanding luxury vehicle segment, convenience, service coverage and customer experience are likely to play an increasingly important role in how premium brands compete for buyers.
