Hai Phong, Vietnam: Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing visited the VinFast Hai Phong Manufacturing Complex on the afternoon of September 4, 2026, as part of his official visit to Vietnam, where he and a high-level Myanmar delegation were briefed on the Vietnamese automaker’s electric vehicle production and international expansion.
The delegation was welcomed by Pham Nhat Quan Anh, Chairman of VinFast, who personally led the tour of the company’s Body Shop and General Assembly Shop. During the visit, VinFast presented its integrated manufacturing processes, automated production lines and electric vehicle portfolio, offering Myanmar’s leadership a close look at Vietnam’s growing automotive capabilities.
At the General Assembly Shop, where VinFast vehicles are completed, President Min Aung Hlaing expressed strong appreciation for the quality and standards of the company’s Vietnamese-made electric vehicles. He also praised the modern infrastructure and advanced facilities at the complex, as well as VinFast’s development into Vietnam’s leading automotive brand and its rapid international expansion.
As of September 2026, VinFast said it had maintained the No. 1 position in Vietnam’s automotive market for 24 consecutive months. The company has also expanded to more than 10 countries worldwide, including Indonesia, India, the Philippines and North America — a global push that has moved the Vietnamese brand well beyond its home garage, so to speak.
The visit comes as Vietnam and Myanmar seek to strengthen cooperation across several areas, with industry, trade and green mobility emerging as potential fields for deeper engagement.
