Sonalika Tractor Sales Reach Record 12,581 Units in August 2026, Production Tops 18,000

New Delhi: Sonalika Tractors recorded its highest-ever overall sales for the month of August, selling 12,581 tractors in August 2026, while its Hoshiarpur manufacturing facility also achieved a record monthly production of 18,067 units, the company said on Wednesday.

The tractor manufacturer said its August growth was about 1.9 times the estimated growth of the overall industry, as it continued its momentum in the 2026-27 financial year.

The two records come during Sonalika’s 30th anniversary year and ahead of the festive season, traditionally an important period for tractor and agricultural equipment demand in India.

Sonalika said the production milestone was achieved at its integrated tractor manufacturing plant in Hoshiarpur, Punjab. The higher output is intended to strengthen availability as dealerships prepare for anticipated festive-season demand.

The company has been expanding its product push around its new Gold series tractors while relying on its vertically integrated manufacturing operations to exercise greater control over components, quality and product specifications.

It has also introduced its annual festive campaign, called the ‘Heavy Duty Dumdaar Dhamaka’, as part of its sales activity for the season. For farmers, festive tractor shopping may not have quite the sparkle of jewellery or electronics, but in rural markets, horsepower often makes a considerably more practical gift.

Commenting on the performance, Mr. Raman Mittal, Joint Managing director, International Tractors Limited, said:

“We are excited to have delivered our best-ever August overall sales of 12,581 tractors, surpassing industry growth by 1.9X in Aug’26. Simultaneously, we have also achieved our highest-ever monthly production record of 18,067 tractors that demonstrates the depth of our alignment which we have built across our value chain.

From the factory floor to farms across India, our manufacturing muscle, product strength and market agility are operating in perfect sync, and this formidable alignment has made us more confident as we step into the festive months ahead. We are firing on all cylinders – fully charged to fulfil every farmer’s aspirations with our new Gold series tractors and translate the vibrant festive season into greater farmer prosperity.”

Sonalika’s Manufacturing and Export Presence

Founded in 1996, Sonalika Tractors is one of India’s leading tractor manufacturers and describes itself as the country’s No. 1 tractor export brand.

The company, headquartered in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, has a presence in more than 150 countries and operates an integrated tractor manufacturing facility in the state.

Sonalika is also listed among Fortune 500 India organisations and has sought to differentiate itself through measures including publicly displaying tractor prices and service costs on its website, aimed at improving price transparency for buyers.

The company is marking 30 years of operations in 2026, having expanded from its Punjab manufacturing base into domestic and international agricultural machinery markets.

The record August sales and production figures put Sonalika in a stronger supply position heading into the festive months. The bigger test, however, will be whether higher factory output translates into sustained retail demand as tractor makers compete for spending from India’s vast and highly diverse farming economy.
